Luffy is probably my favorite character in anime and manga period but I have to agree with just about everyone in this thread

Pretty much everything is the Luffy show... which is LAME

If Oda's love was spread between the Strawhats evenly (ish) I think it would be a much better series

Right now it's probably like this

- Luffy






- Zoro


- Nami/Sanji


- Everyone else

You have my respect for your honesty
I was never a huge Luffy fan but liked him (especially pre ts)
Now I can’t see him anymore

Swap Ussop and Sanji. Ussop was a flop in Wano, but then against maybe we shouldn't judge by Wano since it was a pile of trash that Oda completely fumbled on.

Lol at Chopper, dude got turned into a toy in story itself lmao.

Yeah, post timeskip especially has been non stop Luffy wank, it's ridiculous. Which IMO is one of the reasons I don't enjoy the series as much compared to pre TS, even aside from general dip in narrative/execution.

Pre TS, we had at least the EB core five getting some shine.
Zoro was more of a character, did much more than just be "badass bait".
Sanji had the undercover detective stuff going on.
Nami used to have character moments with Luffy/Zoro, and used to hang around with Luffy more (the Romance Dawn trio thing)
Ussop used to be more active.

I would say Zoro. He wouldn't make Roger and xebec swordsman, He wouldn't make luffys inspiration (shanks) weaker than mihawk if he isn't his no. 1. Then you have the Oden overwanked then Zoro just achieved odens feat without acoc.

Luffy is just the mc so he has the most screentime but Zoro was his first mc so he must be his ideal mc.

Luffy. Everything is luffy.

The rest don’t matter but I’d say 2 and 3 are Zoro and Sanji. Oda likes writing sanjis stories annd character and oda likes writinf Zoros fights.

After that it’s interchangeable except for chopper who oda doesn’t even seem to consider a character.

One piece structure is the same as DBZ where there's only one mc unlike naruto where Sasuke and Naruto are treated equal. But in DBZ, you can tell that there's a gap between Goku and Vegeta while in one piece, it can even be argued that Zoro is stronger than Luffy.
