Zoro fans think Zoro is like Killua ,sasuke, Vegeta lol

Zoro is just another henchman which Luffy doesn't need to be PK
The story continues well when Zoro isn't there.
We've had arcs without zoro, nothing changed much and story was even at peak (marineford, Impel down...)

This is why people shouldn't the zoro fans seriously
On top of zkk, they believe such things too

I've lived years and never saw people praise these moments in real life, they barely even mention Zoro as some great character

Only on internet you find people hyping One Piece so high
In real life, it's mostly Naruto, HxH ,DBZ, Attack on Titan, Saint Seiya,...
I never understood how OP sold so much because in real life, i only see people talking about New shows, naruto and/or DBZ.

To begin with even at his best he was optimistically a 4 as compared to legendary characters such as Guts he's simply Guts 0.2 with comparatively extremely little depth, but still enjoyable. Now he has the personality of sheet rock and severely lacks development that he and his dream desperately needed. Too mamy of his promises/affirmations fell through to take his word seriously and he has been such an unimpressive side character for quite a while now so I can only go as high as a 2.
Guts is a 100/10 character tho, so the comparison is pretty good

One piece isn’t as big in the west as the others.
One Piece should be the biggest hit only in Japan or maybe some other countries in Asia.

I think the One Piece anime failed to be outstanding in other parts of the world, here in Brazil, One Piece only started to become popular because the Anime entered the Netflix catalogue.

Average, the thing is that he was one of the first off his kind within shonen Gold generation(late 90s-mid 00s) so he got a lot of points from originality and the inovative three sword style.

Zoro is a simple and linear character, but he plays his role.

You are gonna be disappointed with him if you expect the complexity of a sasuke/killua/uryuu etc..., but if you just accept him for who he is, without expecting anything out of the ordinary, he is a good character.
Uryuu? I laughed to be honest

Naruto is obscenely popular in the USA, in europe it's different.
Do you know why? I am EU and have no idea.
Naruto is also more popular in Africa than One Piece
Bleach was kinda more popular than OP years and years ago

Naruto seriously became more iconic than OP. it's the dbz of our generation
Almost everyone knows Naruto : either doing the ninja run or ninjustu signs or the headbands

Bleach's lore is amazing, dig past the surface on top of giving the novels a chance and you might change your approach towards the character.
Bleach is so ass dawg. I bet this is the same **** who gets mad at sbs reveals. But enjoys having the entirety of the lore and WB carried by novels

He is far from being one of the best characters because Oda doesn't focus on his characterization thar much specially post timeskip.

For example. Levi/Erwin are characters close to perfection. In One Piece we have Whitebeard and Bege for example.

But he is for sure above average.

Definitely one of the best imo and you can tell by looking in just two things.
Him being number 2 in popularity polls and some times really close to the MC, even though the author never gave him a special treatment.
Haters writing all that bs about him, wasting so much time of their lives just to badmouth a fictional character.
I definitely hasn't read such hateful comments about any other fictional character lol.
I don't even need to analyse my point of view, if you just take into account those two things you will realise how great character zoro is.

I don't know what is the fandoms infatuation with SHs not getting more character development post TS. Wasn't the main purpose of the TS to prepare the SHs for the challenges to come. The SHs have already spent time together and now they come back more mature (not entirely though). You can't have each SH getting character development (mostly seems like internal conflicts and resolution from what the people moan here about) in every saga/arc. How many times will a character go through character development in a ~1100 chapter manga. And not every character requires that, you want a 40+ year old Jinbe to go through his emotions and internal conflict? Shit doesn't make sense, he already has faced so much, Fisher Tiger, FI, WB, BM, Ace rescue etc. Feels like people want every SH to be a MC even post TS. You want to change a character's unique trait for the sake of character development? That's not gonna change, if Sanji is a pervert he will remain a pervert.

Look on the other side, if Oda still kept his focus on SHs then he would have less panels for the world building. Not saying Oda is perfect (too many unnecessary side characters and unresolved plot lines) but in a weekly manga the amount of focus that can be given to different things while keeping the story exciting is pretty damn difficult.

Surface readers have also missed Zoro's character development in the Zoro vs King fight. People want to pass off Zoro as a generic badass/cool character but they forget Zoro crying and making his promise to Luffy and they also accuse Zoro of being afraid of WG when Luffy wants to go to MG to save Vivi.
