Alright, Sandoq vs Daemon Blackfyre?

Bonus extra round :hohoho:
My kind of bonus round!!

Daemon was said to be a huge man with lion-like hair, large arms and a flat stomach, a true warrior Targaryen who inspired people and earned loyalists from them just laying eyes on him. Was he a 7 foot tall giant? Probably not but I would say he was easily above 6 foot as most Targaryen males were and Daemon was especially big for a Targaryen.

Eustass Osgrey said he was a superior warrior to Ulric Dayne wielding Dawn and Aemon The Dragon Knight. Bro said Daemon had no equal and was “The Warrior Himself” when weilding Blackfyre.

In his final battle he wore heavy black plated draconic armor and wielded the sword Blackfyre, the sword of Kings.

His feats on the battle of the Red Grass Field is literally the stuff of legend. Had Daemon not rebelled against Westeros I think he would widely be acknowledged as one of the greatest warriors in history.

I don’t know if he can beat a 7 foot tall veteran pitfighting monster who won 100 pit fights and treated a competent Kingsguard and his guardsmen like children but Daemon is a legit monster. I would say maybe extreme diff Sandoq to be safe but I wouldn’t be surprised if Daemon could beat him.

@Elder Lee Hung One thing I haven't understood though, it's your Rhaegar glaze. Blud was a scholar and didn't give a crap about fighting and becoming a warrior until he read some prophecy on a book lol. He later become one and yes, his talent was remarked upon by Barristan. He won jousts, but Jorah Mormont also defeated Jaime Lannister on a joust once. Jorah Mormont would get opened from balls to brain from Jaime in an actual death match.

Rhaegar also never had that warrior appetite, even after becoming such. He nonetheless grew into a skilled one.

But there are many skilled warriors in the seven kingdoms lol. Not sure where I would put Rhaegar.

Rhaegar beat Barristan Selmy in joust and had a “rivalry” of sorts with Arthur Dayne. Need I even go on? Lol

Rhaegar was born a Targaryen, who have been a house of fantastic warriors. To me, the sheer fact that he was Targaryen means that it doesn’t matter when he became a warrior. He became a warrior, he has the blood of the dragon were a martial house, he defeated Barristan in joust and had a rivalry with Arthur, end of discussion imo.

I didn’t even know Rhaegar was slept on lol. How can you doubt Rhaegar was a warrior when he has the results and portrayal to prove it lol?

He had a "rivarly" with Dayne? As far as I remember Dayne was his closest friend but I don't remember being mentioned the rivalry thing.

Still, rivalries can be many different things, of varying degrees and take form in many different shapes. For the record, like I said I have have Rhaegar as a skilled warrior for sure. He definitely wasn't the average knight. He injured Robert enough that he couldn't ride later.

Not like a manga rivalry or some queer shit like that. I think it was said he and Arthur fought against each other in tourney or something like that.

I also found this on the wiki:
During the tourney, Lord Commander Gerold Hightowerbroke three lances against Ser Oswell Whent and fought with great distinction in the mêlée, while Ser Arthur Dayne defeated everyone in the jousts except Rhaegar. Upon unhorsing Ser Barristan, Rhaegar won

So Rhaegar defeated Dayne in joust, literally, beat Barristan in the joust, and Gerold Hightower also fought in the tournament. So Rhaegar won a tournament where these three legends jousted.

Jousting and melee prowess are not 1:1 but they absolutely are related and hint at the overall skill of a warrior.

Rhaegar was a freak man. Like I said I would’ve put him in this tourney if he hadn’t already lost to Robert, I tried not to include characters like Rhaegar or Meyles who already lost to another fighter in the tourney because that’s just boring.

But like, Rhaegar injured f***ing Robert in Melee (on horseback), beat Dayne and Barristan in joust, by proxy was superior to the White Bull in a joust….

Like, what else can Rhaegar haters ask for? Lol

Jaime, Gregor, Sandor, Selmy, Dayne > Robert
Robert in his prime was really a beast. He could swing a huge warhammer with one hand and his prowess with it was legendary, as well as being called peerless and fiercest warrior in the realm by Ned.

Now these would be all very hard matches but I'd bet on him against the Mountain and Sandor as well.

Against the Mountain, Robert would be more mobile as well as more skilled. And those blows from his warhammer would be heavy lol, I think he'd up shattering the armor of Gregor. He could lose, nobody is really safe from Gregor, but like I said definitely my bets are on him.

Against the Hound, he faces an opponent extremely similar to him aside from the weapon. Both freakishly strong, skilled. It could go either way but I'd still bet on Robert more often than not with his portrayal.

Dayne, Selmy and Jaime are at the pinnacle/near pinnacle. Dayne is crazy wanked in the story and is the first character Martin picks in a trial by combat, Barristan is equal to him without Dawn, Jaime is uber wanked as well both in story and by Martin. Their prodigious ability would prevail against Robert. Tough matches nonetheless.

@Elder Lee Hung The resistance of Dorne against Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters before, is an incredibly badass story. I'm going to completely quote someone who wrote this in another site, years ago:

This is easily one of the most badass backstories of the entire series and it makes what the show is doing to Dorne and the Martells all the more annoying.

The ruling Martell princess, despite being like 80 years old, essentially told Rhaenys Targaryen to go fuck herself when Rhaenys strolled in demanding subservience. The Martells then practiced guerrilla warfare, hiding out in the deserts and launching hit-and-run attacks. An entire Tyrell army disappeared in the Dornish desert, Orys Baratheon got caught in a nasty choke point in the Boneway and lost a hand, and Aegon I was duped into fighting House Toland’s fool in a trial by combat after the Tolands had already fled the castle.

When the Martells abandoned Sunspear, Aegon left Lord Rosby in charge of it. The Targaryens were lulled into complacency and left the country. The Dornish then bucked up, rebelled and retook what the Targaryens had conquered. Men that Aegon I had left to hold abandoned Dornish castles were massacred, and Lord Rosby was defenestrated at Sunspear with extreme prejudice.

The Ullers of Hellholt succeeded in shooting Meraxes out of the sky and either killing Rhaenys with her or holding Rhaenys in their dungeon. Aegon burned through Dorne hoping to turn the Dornish against the Martells but it never happened. Eventually the Dornish prince’s daughter brought Meraxes’ skull to King’s Landing and gave Aegon a note. Whatever the note said freaked Aegon out and he ended up pulling his forces from Dorne. No one knows what was in the letter, but one theory is that the letter told Aegon that Rhaenys was still alive in the dungeon and that they’d put her out of her misery if Aegon backed off. Not even free her, the deal was essentially a mercy kill.

The Dornish stayed independent until Daeron I decided to try invading them. That ended up with Daeron getting killed and losing Aegon I’s crown. Baelor I succeeded Daeron and made peace with Dorne by betrothing his cousin Daeron (the future Daeron II) to Mariah Martell. This was what eventually led to Dorne joining the kingdom, but they were allowed concessions that other regions weren’t.

If other kingdoms had had the Martells’ unfathomably large balls (ovaries?), perhaps the Targaryens would have been held off.
