Akainu is going to have to speed-run it in the shortest time possible because everyone else is trying to do it now too and there isn't much time left in the story.

The idea with saying he could do it quickly only really means that he is one of the people who would be very influential if he did try to do it.

Everybody going for it right now is influential and has a high chance of finding it. He's no exception.

Narratively, though, the Navy getting it is one of the most boring options from my point of view.

Why would the two fight? I don't see the reason for this match up. Doubt they know each other that well.

Akainu hates pirates mainly it makes most sense for him to fight a pirate.
Sabo is more likely to fight Imu than Akainu realistically. Also he's a revolutionary, not a pirate, why would he even go after a government dog he doesn't give two stinky shits about?
