Strong parallels have never been a prerequisite, it's just a bonus. What were the strong parallels between Sanji and Queen before their fight started ? Queen had much more in common with Franky so based on this parallel logic, he should have been his opponent. And what was the strong parallel between Jabura and Sanji ? Their quarrels with the second strongest ? If so, nobody in BB's crew would be a fitting opponent for Sanji since Shiryu never quarrels with anybody. Once BBPs get more fleshed out and proper screentime, Sanji will have more parallels with his future opponent.

Honestly Catarina Devon would be the perfect fight for Sanji if he could get over his issue with fighting women. Only for "evil" ones or so ofc. Given what Devon's hobby is, it would be very fitting for him to take her down. But it will never happen with Oda.
I'm hoping for Pizarro, Laffitte or the 10th Captain, whoever they are. But Pizarro was given a really cringey voice and cat speak in the official dub, so I'm less keen on him now.
What if Sanji faced Kuzan assuming he fights them? Fire vs Ice? But I feel Oda making Sanji's exoskeleton awaken and break Queen's sword and giving Shiryu invisibility will set up a fight between Sanji and Shiryu.
Alternatively, he fights San Juan Wolf with Jinbei and it's a repeat of their Wadatsumi fight.

I was looking up Gin and got reminded of Pearl too and Sanji did fight him. Pearl was really wacky, caused blue flames with his abilities and was "indestructible" so Oda might parallel this with Burgess getting Jozu's fruit and making Sanji fight him?
But If Burgess with the Diamond fruit can fully cover himself unlike Jozu did (I'm guessing if he covers his face, he can't breathe maybe? As the diamond seemed to be only an exterior shell and not like a logia?), Sanji could take him on and use Adv CoA to bypass the diamond potentially?
I rather see Zoro fight somone with the Diamond fruit, to see if Zoro can actually cut Diamond or use Adv CoA or even Adv CoC now ofc to beat them. But with Shiryu having the invisibility fruit now, the diamond fruit is gonna have to go to someone else or Shiryu's sword somehow?

I just REALLY hope Oda doesn't go the Fairy Tail route of Laxus vs Raven Tail and have them all get one shot instantly by Luffy or someone else! I hope they will be strong and competent, but Burgess's portrayal post TS (much like Smoker's and Tashigi's ), the lack of BB pirates actually doing anything combat wise aside from him and Shiryu's lame choice of DF to get makes me worried and not so hopeful for them.

But it’ll be Pizarro, there’s very little point in him being North Blue royalty otherwise. That’s his defining feature and it pretty clearly relates more to Sanji than anyone else in the crew.
Thing is.
Lafitte is the coolest BBP, and people want him, for some reason, to fight Nami.
After Ulti, I dread at the thought of wasting such a cool character by having him "fight" Nami....
Would take Laffite vs Brook over Lafitte vs Sanji if it meant he wouldn't be wasted on Nami.

Yeah that is a great question! I was hoping Oda would explore this concept with Ivankov's ability to change gender at will and doing the same to Sanji ironically!
That's what I was thinking, Oda is fixating a lot on Sanji's past with Germa and thus the North Blue and it's royalty as you said, that is sp,e great points there too. Judge killed 4 kings from there I believe and took their heads off or something and Pizarro is the corrupt King, so I wonder if Judge led to Pizarro's capture after defeating him and his kingdom/forces or Pizarro was conveniently already in Impel Down when Judge was on his regicidal spree?
I think you're definitely on the cards about that. Oda made Sanji clash and have beef with Doflamingo who deemed himself a King too and he's from the North Blue as well. Also, Cricket is from there and around that time in the manga, Oda was teasing Sanji's full backstory with the talk of North Blue at that time and showing Sanji's reacting to that presumably dead woman's photo who looked like Sora too. Brook's history with the Vinsmokes is unexplored too.
Also, certain other promiment figures are from there such as Thatch the chef of the WB pirates, the Hitler-looking king, the Doffy family, Law and his crew, Benn Beckmann who Sanji might clash with a battle of intelligence but probs will face Lucky Roo and bunch of others.
I might be going for cospiracy theory style thinking here, trying to link stuff and such but I do wonder how much Oda has planned and set things up, given that foreshadowing of Sanji from Jaya and such?
There's this cover page which led to a lot of speculation too, he's dressed as "Mr Prince" here too I think amd Tsuru is crane and she is from and was involved in incidents in the North Blue too.

Brook vs Lafitte would be great imo. Nami aside from Sanji or Robin would be best for Devon potentially but if Yamato joins the SHs, I see her facing Devon definitely though tbh.
Aside from that, I can't think of a good matchup for Nami. The 10th captain? Lmao.
She might fight Devon as some theorists believe Devon killed Nami's mother in the past, Devon is the Crescent Moon hunter and is like a witch and Nami is like a witch and they are associated with crescent moons too. Devon will be jealous of her now infamous beauty and femininity now especially, the more notoriety the SHs get, the more Nami will get Devon's attention and thus hatred. It will be similar to how Brulee hated on Nami for similar reasons if I rememebr right, like the witch queen stepmother from Snow White or w/e?
Again this is all going into crack theory mode though ofc. Oda might just end up surprising us lol.
