It’s not that the jokes are offensive; I’m probably the biggest SJW on this forum, and I don’t want his shtick to stop because it’s cruel so much as it’s repetitive and annoying. Oda needing new material after 25ish years has nothing to do with the political climate.

As far as i remember this was a filler scene...

Sanji will always have heart eyes in front of a beatiful woman - doesn't matter the situation. But Sanji was serious when the situations required it - heart eyes or whatever won't change that. Even when he was completely focused on Pudding, he managed to dodge Katakuri's attack - which proofs exactly my point. Sanji was stil aware and prepared for the things to come.
And gags are always made in OP, even in serious moments - doesn't mean the character is unaware of the situation or anything. It's just a gag...
