Chapter Discussion Sanji is being used as a hype tool again

This thread should have been closed once it was created
There is no point in all these toxic discussions where we didn't see anything yet with their "clash" or if the fight will actually happen,
and it's not like Sanji looked bad either to call it "used as a hype tool" what a joke
And its stupid because of how comparing it with past arcs we already know they are different situations and story plots

There is definitely a big difference between "I'm going to die with a hole in my belly" and "A big gaping hole in the stomach can kill someone."
The difference is basically "this will kill me" compared "this could be fatal", which is next to negligible. In both Sanji tells King to stop because he's worried that the attack is powerful enough to rip a hole in him.
Celestial is right. Stephen Paul mentioned this on the One Piece Podcast. He was saying Sanji was being impartial, and wasn't saying "Oh I'm gonna be killed!" like many here interpret it.

He said you can't tell what Sanji meant because Japanese omits a lot of pronouns.

King will go chasing after Shinobu, leaving Sanji on the ground. Remember there still queen, Queen will argue with King during chasing Shinobu. all strawhats maybe minus Zoro will fight Big Mom. Hopefully all strawhats gather together and fight Big Mom. After that all worst generation fight Kaido just like in the film Stempede and Sanji doing his thing secure a safe path for the alliance. There will be complete docking this time either using general Franky or Carrot will take Robin place at the left hand. :myman:

Ok 1. Theres no plan he could have made to get luffy out of that situation, 2. An entire fleet was shooting at Sanji and Sanji got hit once, and even then he didnt even know he was shot until chopper told him in the next chapter. 3. Sanji couldnt have gotten out of that yonko fleet situation by himself, If your really a fan of sanji you should know Holding Luffy is a literal nerf to sanji fighting style. He uses both hands to take out large groups.
Lastly it was Yonko fleet and Oven was one of the guys in the fleet. Oven alone is enough to make it a difficult fight for Sanji. 1 person shouldnt have been able to escape from a yonko fleet. The Germa being there was absolutely necessary......

The context of Sanji vs King is different from the fights you mentioned, Doffy and Vergo were the main villains/antagonist. King in the context of this arc is an underling of a Yonko he's not the main arc villain/antagonist.Sanji getting overpowered makes sense, based on luffys portrayal against katakuri. King would get the better of most people in that situation. Sanji is fighting someone much stronger than him, a struggle should be expected honestly. The good thing about this arc is that it requires Sanji to fight unlike those arcs you mentioned. So there may be more to sanji vs king. We'll know next chapter. Its honestly a feat that Sanjis able to clash with the guy and save momo honestly. Considering Katakuri whooped luffys ass nonstop.

Already answered this kinda , for one if Oda really wanted to make a plan he could'v instead of letting us wait couple of chapters of everyone thinking "oh what's Sanji planning to do in this impossible situation , surely he has a plan like he always does" ... remember he got them out of worst situations than this in Enies Lobby

yet the solution for that was "Sanji picks Luffy inside an entire army and RUNS (?!?)" like really is that the plan ?

As for Vergo nah he was never the main villain (it was ceaser) nor had the hype/prestige of one and remember Zoro vs a main villain in Fishman island what looked like ... Sanji could'v hold him off without taking damage and same goes against Doffy , Zoro held Fujitora without taking damage

you can always hold off/push characters back without taking damage even if you're weaker and even if you do take damage at least it's a cool moment , remember when Sanji saved Usopp from Enel's attack and had that cool moment

Sanji wasn't even paying attention to King when he landed the attack. Even a blind Donkey can see that. You have to be pretty damn ignorant to think this was supposed to be a hypetool moment, when it was meant to save Momonosuke while at the same time not make out the Calamities to be utter incompetent jackasses.
Sanji was already in King's grip, which is why he threw Momo to safety and King's grip was still not broken.

How would him "Paying attention" change that?
