Or perhaps because they are obviously going to interprete stuff the way they want and that the scene was supposed to make a funny constrast between Sanji's wish to get Camie back quickly at that time as the whole crew intended to do, while also considering the fact he could've just tried to buy her to get her back just like the CDs were doing, but obviously not for slavery purposes, as the actual comic relief of his comment, followed by Chopper and Nami hitting him like they were saying "shut up" because they also know he loves mermaids?
:quest::quest:

It's not the first time they get Sanji wrong. They get everyone wrong, Zoro too, thats comedy. It's not that deep like some of u snowflakes are trying to make it seem
:suresure:
What does this even mean ?
:sus:
It was ''comic relief'' for sure but in that scene, Sanji suggested to buy a slave girl; what he intended to do with her isn't specified but we know Sanji and Nami/Chopper know him too...

And? Buying a slave to free her in a world where slavery is a thing that is accepted by the majority including the Government, and its your main goal to free that someone, is somehow a bad thing? Supposing you're talking about the real world, right? Because we are talking about a fictional story with completely different standards and possibilities to consider, simply can't mix things up.

By the way, Sanji surely wasn't going to do that, he is smart dude. He literally just let a random thought slip out of his mind, if he trully wanted to buy her he would've made it very clear that doing it was the best possible choice.

Also, Nami and specially Chopper don't know Sanji like you're trying to make it seem, there is a lot of stuff they don't have idea about Sanji, only Luffy, and perhaps Zoro, on some aspects, do know more deeply about Sanji, and thats it.

Its even feels dumb trying to look that deep into this, because it isn't supposed to be looked that way :suresure:

Oh yeah, they can read through everyone's intentions, its their specialty, right? Sorry bruh, Sanji wanted to enslave Camie and become a Celestial Dragon, then start his project of enslaving all the mermaids in the world, you're right genius
