I still believe that Zoro and Sanji will fight together. Sanji and Zoro fans who dislike each other will have to join the shippers side

Anyways, Sanji and King have much in common in terms of fighting style (example: Diable Jamble). Plus, King made it personal with a direct kill attack.
One more note to everyone, I actually see Queen harder to take down. Look at his DF, he is basically a muscle mass, much suitable for Zoro who will become much much better swordsman the moment he can fully cut down him. Instead of looking at it like why Sanji gets King and Zoro gets Queen, look at it from the perspective of why Sanji gets agile sky fighter while Zoro gets extremely durable opponent. (examples include Mr. 1 and Pica, who were the most durable opponents in their respective arcs due to their DFs) (I fully believe Queen to be more durable than that “hyped” Pica’s golem)

Ur right when it comes to durablity between King and Queen. His df looks like he can tank the most hits within the calamity.
There is like 4 to arc including wano before the story ends so there is still time for zoro to jump tiers in the right way witout it getting rushed.
I know Oda said last saga but that should be taken with a gain of salt, he has send this for years one was supposed to end in the arlong arc yet + 20 years later and we r still here also covid must have pushed it back for 2 or 3 years.
I think the main reason for Oda announcing it was more to promote it because there r new manga that have started to get more attention.

Moreover, Zorobois should be happy that he takes down Queen instead of King. Queen is by far the most important crewmember for Kaido. He is in charge of the prison and tortured thousands of samurais and broke their will. Additionally, he recruited countless members to BP due to their broken wills and definitely seems like the most loved All-Star amongst the crew (he is in charge of the party, forces move through his commands, he fires up the fighters) After this fight, he will literally take revenge for all imprisoned samurais and break the spirit of lower ranked members of BP, which will greatly contribute to the overcome of the war.
