On the one hand you have King, who has a Katana, is a pretty swift fighter and prefers using his sword in battle, e.g. against the scabbards in the flashback (where as Queen used a bat), using his sword to cut off Marco's wing cleanly, always is depicted carrying his Katana. While Queen uses various weapons. A saber here, lasers there, cannons and guns, viruses. A fat blob using a saber. He isn't centered around his blade and this will make his power in swordsmanship suffer.
If Queen was a pro swordsman, he wouldn't use other weapons like guns, because swordsmanship is just the most lethal ability. But if someone has to use guns, lasers and modified teeth, his swordsmanship sucks to behin with.

Nop, only strong swordsman or even stronger characters who are not swordsman can do something with a sword. Especially against a considerably strong character like Drake. And now he is using a sword against Sanji in hys hybrid, King might do the same since is isn't show like a full swordsman, but more versatile than that.
