Character Discussion Sanji's Immense Will

RayanOO

Lazy is the way
This is a thread about will, asking robin to take his fight is not a sign of having will. Not to mention it jeopardises his own morals by putting a woman in danger bc he wasn't able to do anything
He asked her because he knew he couldn’t fight Maria himself. He was strong enough to put his pride aside and ask a friend for help. Nothing shameful here.

Erm...no. Stop making pathetic excuses. Sanji is an idiot towards women.... it's his entire gag.

Now either start making fun of Luffy's weak ambition or just accept these are gags and we shouldn't take them seriously.
his IQ doesn't go down just because a woman is near, when he fought khalifa he still knew damn well he needed her key.

It's not a sign of will though. It's the exact opposite, compromising your own morals to get personal gain isn't very strong willed, doesn't matter if he knows robin can do it or not. It's still a sign of weak will on sanjis part

Because you're keep on changing the subject. What do you wanna talk about....go on
My man, if you're responding in your own thread, then I think you should be posting with enough confidence in your point to steer back to it.

Subject: Sanji's will.
Pros -
He'll save the family members he despises, and humble himself for the people he cares about. He'll be completely harmless to women even if he's harmed. All of this goes towards the love and respect for Zeff, the debt he cannot repay in his own mind.

Cons -
It's not actually stronger than someone would assume, though. He avoids fighting with his hands because cooking is more important to him, but we never see him putting in the work to compensate. He despises the Raid Suit, but reluctantly uses it... without putting in the work to overcome the need for it or the work to get so good with it that he can get shit done with it effectively. He was willing to marry off and give up sailing, but went back to sailing when he got his heart broken. In the face of death, he shows no concern for his actual dreams.

Subject: Sanji's ambition
This is a comparative thing... and in his case it's a con. When Luffy was utterly defeated by the events ranging from Sabaody to Marineford, doubt set in. But then he rededicated himself to his dream. Likewise for Zoro at Baratie. Sanji's defeat, his breakdown in WCI, had nothing to do with rededication to any sort of goal aside from honoring Zeff and his own crew. Admirable, but not ambitious.

Well change selling out robin to entrusting robin with this fight, it's still a sign of weak will and compromising morals
how so??

sanji can beat black maria but he asked robin for help why??

cause it goes against his code/will

so if anything it shows he has strong will and not the other way around

do I believe he has strong will?? yes

do I believe he'll get COC?? no

To be fair Law did manage to use Shambles just the last chapter on a Zoro that didn't want to be moved from attacking Prometheus :goyea:
@Ten Yaksha Blother

To follow up on this, it's possible that Law's ability works even if one has similar or somewhat stronger Haki, as long as the gap isn't huge, like with the Yonko being monsters in that regard.

That's probably why he could also use Shambles in Dressrosa against Doffy for example.

In the future, Sanji might surpass Law. We cannot deny Sanji's potential.
Law is on the caliber of Luffy, ain't no way fodder like Sanji can compete with Law
Law low diffed sanji on PH and defeated Vergo who low diffed Sanji
Strength carries over.
Doffy negs him, King negs him, and now Black Maria negs him
Ffs he wasn't even able to defeat p1 canonically

How on earth is this clown defeating Law whos a Roof 5, the top Cast of the Next Gen

This uplifts Law even further then, where he's able to do that to Zoro.
This doesn't lift Sanji.

What do you think he should have done ?

His morale told him he couldn’t fight Maria so if he had fought her it would have been « comprising with his own moral ».

He could have made himself killed without calling for help and that would have been the stupidest choices ever.

Or he could have learnt and known that Robin could do it and call for a friend. That’s what he did.

It just disproves the argument that his powers working on Sanji is evidence of Sanji having a weak will, otherwise you'd have to concede that being the case for Zoro or Doffy, which at least in Zoro's case i'm sure you agree with me saying it's not the case :goyea:
