Character Discussion Scopper Gaban, Has He Met your Expectations?

Waban went from insignificant nobody character in Lolden flashback
to chad Ripley hubbie left-hand man of Roger and Shanks’ old buddy who left him in joyful tears and drinking so much
to the man who shook a Yonko and his RHM so much they double-taked a rooftop moment against one of his low-mid tier named attacks

Waban is so far meeting my expectations, but he has certainly smashed general expectations.
My favourite part so far is Luffy immediately making the connection to Sanji. I don't think there could be a clearer indication of him being good people. It's good to know both Rayleigh and Gaban are good men.
(The jury is still out on Shanks.

The more I learn about Haki, the less I like it, but that and my hatred for Oda's take on Future Sight aside, CoO is probably still my favourite part about it, and Gaban has excellent feats so far.
My favourite part so far is Luffy immediately making the connection to Sanji. I don't think there could be a clearer indication of him being good people. It's good to know both Rayleigh and Gaban are good men.

On the thread topic, with regard to strength, portrayal and relevance, yup he's certainly met my expectations ^^
Characterization-wise though, although he was only just introduced, he's exceeded my expectations.
Love the similarities with Sanji and the explicit parallels didn't really expect that. Also love the fact that he can be troll and funny lol
Dude's been trolling since his intro and even the fight with Luffy was pretty troll~esque from start to finish 😂
Reminds me of Garp who's also one of my fav characters in the series ^^
