Lol he's far exceeded 99% of people's expectations power lvl wise and relevance wise (if he really is the man marked by flames). Including my own.

For years people have thought Gaban was just irrelevant and would be nowhere near Rayleigh in strength.

I have been stating since oden flashback chapters that his portray alongside Rayleigh made him look close to him in leadership and power.

He has met my expectations so far. A Rayleigh kind of veteran who probably holds one of the Road Poneglyphs (or at least is able to point the strawhats were they should go). He was already expected to be at one of the New World's last islands (Lodestar before being revealed to be actually in Elbaf), so he's been in a lot of One Piece's fan theories for a long time.

It always made sense: Roger probably gave him this last mission since he probably didn't want a random pirate who just had the power (e.g.: Kaido, Big Mom) to reach the One Piece.
