In Japanese it's gyaban instead of gaban. So ya is probably short of gya.

No one of them were called big boss like shanks which is like yakuza

Maybe he is but its unlikely that he thought gaban is dead i think.

MAYBE because gaban is man marked by flame and he sails a lot so he didnt show up in the elbaph for some time and shanks thought he is dead

Ooh, such a rare sight in this place XD sorry if I didn't read the OP properly. It could be, also they both share those "let's have party" vibes. Considering Shanks was shortly before Luffy in Elbaf we can even get some flashback with them both so that Luffy gets some news/infos about Shanks and maybe about Roger voyage too.
