General & Others Shanks Blackbeard and Mihawk: 3 paths of strength

Shanks is mainly associated with haki, Blackbeard devil fruits, and mihawk swords

While each path is different I think each “power” might follow the same pattern. That pattern imo being each going back to mind, body, and soul/spirit


Haki is pretty self explanatory

Haki being an extension of each
  1. Observation being of the mind
  2. Armament being of the body
  3. Conquerors being of the spirit/soul
Devil fruit classes also fit that same theme

  1. Paramecia being powers that are based on the mind. Them being all about dreams and creativity
  2. Zoans being powers that are based on the body. That being pretty self explanatory
  3. Logia potentially being powers that are based on the spirit/soul. Maybe changing your spirit to reflect that natural force



It also applies to the awakenings of those fruits. While yes you need your body and mind to catch up to the powers the powers you get still reflect each
  1. Paramecia awakenings allow you to in a way expand your mind to affect things in your surroundings. Including inanimate objects
  2. Zoan awakenings just gives you access to an overall stronger better transformation enhancing your body further
  3. Logia awakenings although we don’t have any confirmation what it is yet it probably relates to the spirit. If the theory of them being able to make separate living things based on their logia powers similar to big moms homies it’d make sense. It basically giving life/soul/spirit or whatever you want to call it to their powers
Imo special blades/weapons follow the same theme as well

Like for oden and his blades I think
  1. Enma representing body. It obviously having ties to armament haki
  2. Habakiri representing mind. While we don’t know much about it I believe it also had its own special effect related to senses/observation haki
    • Both blades being opposites and balancing each other out
    • Him not having a blade to represent spirit/soul
For zoro I think he already has one of each

  1. Enma -> body -> armament haki
    • Pushed against king with him being a super durable and enduring dinosaur zoan
  2. Wado -> mind -> observation haki
    • Potentially being pushed against shiryu with him being a sneaky invisible man
  3. Sandai -> spirit -> conquerors haki
    • Idk if asura is necessarily conquerors but both are tied to spirit. Like I think logia’s might be related to spirit but yeah I don’t think conquerors is connected
    • Potentially being pushed against whoever the next major battle after shiryu idk
Bring it back to shanks, Blackbeard, and mihawk I think each will have the ultimate mastery of each in their respective fields


Shanks having full on mastery of each form of haki observation armament and conquerors


Blackbeard maybe not having full mastery of each of his fruits but at the very least getting 1 devil fruit of each class. With him currently only missing a zoan to finish off the trifecta


As for mihawk maybe with yoru being a supreme grade weapon and the strongest black blade it itself represents all 3. So unlike oden who needed 2 blades to represent mind and body or zoro who has 3 to represent all 3 yoru is just that special a blade

Mastering strong weapons makes you strong. Odens mastery of enma and habakiri making him stronger is not a bad thing. Oden with 2 basic no named katana is definitely inferior

Also shanks and even Blackbeard both have weapons and both use haki. Tho unlike mihawk I don’t think their main focus is to get stronger through mastery of their weapons

Technically anyone could try to get and master a supreme grade weapon or super strong fruit but not everyone wants to

Hell everyone has haki but that doesn’t mean everyone tries to fully master it. Out of all the haki users in the verse so far only roger and shanks seem to have tried

If shanks would master his sword how much stronger then mihawk he would be? 2 times stronger? And it seems like zoro is trying to master both haki and swordsmanship. He probably will be 2 times stronger than shanks eos.
