Shanks is Mihawk’s Kuina

He is the one guy Mihawk can never truly surpass because he sacrificed his potential, losing his arm to Luffy.

Mihawk is surely stronger than 1 billion berry East Blue Shanks. But he can never be stronger than 2 armed prime Shanks, because Shanks gave up that potential when he saved Luffy.

Similarly, Zoro will never be able to surpass prime Kuina because Kuina died before she could reach her prime.

I bet that the Shanks Mihawk flashback will even parallel Zoro/Kuina with Shanks always being superior and Mihawk failing to take him down.

Perhaps Mihawk and Shanks even made the promise that one of them would become WSSM. But then Shanks gave up his arm for Nika jr. and Mihawk stopped fighting him because Shanks broke his promise.

Ah, so this is going to be the new cope as to why Mihawk is stronger than Shanks but it does not count. The idea that a two-armed Prime Shanks would have been unbeatable by Mihawk without his injury. Why not speculate how strong Shanks would be if Roger never got sick and trained him for another twenty or so years while you are at it?

You guys remember that Mihawk was his rival before he lost his arm, right?

He already kept up with Shanks and was not defeated by him as Kuina did with Zoro as a kid.

Mihawk in this timeline would also be stronger because he would have continued to fight Shanks over the years instead of falling into depression.

Because Shanks (despite some HARDCORE cope from Mihawk-haters saying otherwise) did not stop fighting Hawkeyes because he was bored or some shit. He got nerfed in Mihawks eyes so hard it was no longer a rivalry. If Shanks is not crippled and continue to fight Mihawk for the past ten or so years? Sure, he would be stronger, but at the end of the day the difference would be negligible because Mihawk would also be stronger.
