I'm willing to bet Kid is going to cheapshot him, like Mr. Go did to Luffy, so that Blackbeard can get the lethal hit. Like probably assign Shanks's sword to the ground while he's focused on Teach.
Kid has significant build up with shanks and Oda needs to have him do something to justify him getting the 5 billion+ bounty alongside Luffy.
Also, Teach full on mid diffing shanks would be absolutely bonkers and would turn Luffy vs Blackbeard into another asspull fight like Luffy vs kaido.

I don't know how Garp was supposedly strong as Whitebeard without any DF, WB had both strong Haki and Strongest DF but here we read he was equally strong....wth

If it's not a fair fight then that doesn't make Shanks weak. Whitebeard lost to blackbeard too but he was against the Marines, admirals, and blackbeard's crew shooting him.
So wasn't really a fair fight.
Shanks can lose to Blackbeard by trying to protect someone from one of Blackbeard's attacks then Shanks gets pounced on instead. Same way Luffy will lose to Blackbeard. Hostages, cheapshots.
