Shanks will be the next 5th elder replacing Saturn

I believe saturn would get defeated by luffy and vegapunk. By this Imu would appoint shanks as the next elder. Imu probably saw something in Shanks that would want him/her to make shanks an elder. In my opinion Imu wants the strongest people in verse to be his/her guard, so he/she is protected when the final war happens. Roger probably knew that someday shanks will be an elder and told shanks when this day happens you will fight the pirate king and then shanks cried upon hearing this.

Imu has some sort of power that makes people loyal to him/her. How tamas df work on animals, Imus ability works on humans. Shanks vs luffy will be an emotional fight in which luffy would have to kill shanks to get to Imu.

This reminds me of berserk how griffith was chosen as the 5th Godhand.

i see what your trying to say here. That Imu sama has a ability of some sort of God ability or some sort of unique haki powers or some sort of a devil fruit ability.. but i think its not, i think the gorosei is just actually very loyal to imu sama. One factor that i think their loyal is that one of them couldve came up with a plan and betray imu sama and things would be very different on what it is now in onepiece but they didnt do it.
