Why are people sleeping on Coby though; he is the next Garp parallel. The new hero of the Marines, who copies Garp's abilities and has the ambition of becoming an admiral. He is there since chapter 1.

That being said, even if we say Coby is a bum, within Blackbeard's organization it's still Kuzan who is portrayed as more important of a player.

No I understand he's newgen Garp and might even surpass him in most ways, I just said that because the guy you replied to absolutely despises Koby and refuses to admit he's going to be the new Garp.
And yes Kuzan does seem more important than Shiryu, even though I'd argue Shiryu > Kuzan when he gets new powerups.

Because Oda himself slept on Koby until the start of the final saga. I´m sure he´ll make great progress, but the idea that he surpasses prime Garp is a total joke. Even at this point in the manga, Oda is hyping Garp up much more then Koby.

Btw, I do think Kuzan is the second strongest BBP, but the main reason he was on the spread for the OP over anyone else is simply because he has his own narrative/goals and principles, with his interest in finding the OP would tie back to his connections to Saul/Ohara. That´s something no other BBP/Admiral really has, though I don´t think it makes him the second strongest as a fact.

Sure, it´s fiction so in principle anything is possible. But have people really considered what this would entail? Garp pretty much is overshadowing everyone in the flashback except Rocks/Roger, and Garp is probably above pretty much any midgen top tier, including his own super hyped up son, and probably even the current MC

For Koby to surpass prime Garp, he would esentially need to be number 3 of his era, and would have to start out preforming Zoro, Law,Kidd Sanji, and even harder maybe, Loki, who could end up being as important as Luffy and Teach in what he got simply at birth. Keep in mind, this is a character we don´t even have any reason to see above Doffy/Cracker level fighters, who were last relevant a decade ago due too powercreep.

And the other issue is that Oda isn´t really setting up the whole Old gen losing thing. For example, to do a new generation should surpass the old situation a ¨Goku¨ like character would need to lose to a ¨cell¨ like character for the new gen character to beat. But Oda hates having characters lose 1v1´s fairly, as you can see when he revealed Roger never got fairly caught, Oden got hostage diffed, Gaban got hostage diffed, Garp got ganged up on, Rocks lost unfairly, Rayleigh has just never lost and humiliated modern day villains, lol.

1-clear clear fruit is useless. 2-shiryu will be useless against garp 3-shiryu wont even see garps face 4- kuzan will defeat garp after garp beat the janitor who cant do damaji 5-iron garp is about his iron fist its what oda mean 6-garp defense is shit if shiryu can do it anyone can ( then process to ignore the closest example that was kuzans freezing being useless against iron garp). all these coping strategy to downplay whiryu were debunked by oda.

I forgot 8 prime garp was just yonko level and old garp was supposed to not even be admiral level ( another way for shiryu hate to cope by undermining garp himself so they wont fully understand just what kind of demon was stopped by shiryu. turn out garp is higher than some mere yonko even teach wouldnt dare what shiryu did once he was genuinely suprised that garp was captured by his crew when he returned.
