What do the size differences of the chess pieces refer to (except Wolf since he is super big)? Why is Aokiji piece smaller than Shiryu piece? Only Devon and Shiryu are upside down.

Well, the Admirals are world destroyers, too. So, it's not like only someone with Gura-Gura no Mi can match Primebeard. And there are people like Roger and Xebec who can likely match or even beat Primebeard.
All I'm saying is, Shiryu isn't all that relevant to be on the level or surpass the likes of Primebeard, Roger, and Xebec. You'd be better off expecting him around King/Queen-level and be pleasantly surprised rather than thinking Shiryu > Primebeard only for Shiryu to barely cut down a building.
