General & Others Should Oda take a hiatus, To rest and plan?

#1
Being a Manga creator is an incredibly hard job, with many developing back pain, exhaustion, and other chronic illnesses.

Oda is no exception, and will take a break every three weeks or so, but is it enough? It is pretty safe to say after 23 plus years writing One Piece, nearly a decade later than other "long running" series like Naruto, Bleach, and DBZ, these short breaks are not enough.

Hunter X Hunter is best known for its excellent Writing and for the years long breaks, do to the authors illnesses and pain. But it is those same hiatus that allowed the author to really plan out what was he wanted more than with a Weekly Series gives.

Take the Wind Nature Training, the Hokage, the Aliens, and all the inconsistencies in Naruto as an example of bad writing due to being a Weekly Series, and not giving enough time to properly plan.

Should Oda take a hiatus to rest and plan for the Final Sega?

He should retire. This manga is going nowhere, Wano was the one last big warning to people who dream of a good ending for this manga.

It's going to be a downhill soon once he starts to speed up things.
I do partly blame the fans for hyping Wano up to heights that it was never going to get to.

Surprisingly, Oda doesn't have as bad illness as Togashi, Kubo or Miura (RIP). So if Oda took break often like he does, he should be fine.
While I don't think his health is as bad as them, he definitely is not healthy.

Aliens that came out of nowhere in the last 20 chapters of 700

Fans are one.

I think Oda didn't handle this himself from his perspective of this arc.

I say the ending will be bad because Oda developed a habit post timeskip where he either doesn't deliver or just lie.

Oda said that Luffy won't defeat Kaido with a big punch. Luffy did defeat Kaido with a big punch.

One Piece in its first incarnation was meant to run for only 5 years. So Oda's plan was centered around 5 years, we are in what? 21st year?

So yeah u can pretty much answer why quality is what it is.

Oda wanted to write Wano since the beginning of this manga and he didn't deliver at all when he finally got to do it. So he had this idea in mind since the beginning and wrote it finally post timeskip.

If Oda also has the ending figured out ( which he said he has ) then it is safe to assume that post timeskip level of writing tax is included and the ending will be just bad/mediocre.

Oda had a chance to built a kingdom in terms of quality writing, sure OP sold 500m copies but 80% of that is Japan only sales.

Oda wasn't surrounded by good people, think about it, one of his editors watch hentai at work, the other is Shueisha spy and another is a Carrot fan and said something like he would love if she was in real life or whatever it was:pepeke:

+ Oda said he would love some criticism from his inner circle. I'm surprised how overlooked this is by the community. Man literally says he is surrounded by ego massaging editors not actual people.

No way he's doing that, he's just dragging on and milking it at this point. He earned a lot of money already but it comes with responsibility for everyone worked with him (like Film Red). Not an unusual thing, look at Conan for example.

I do agree with a lot of these things, these arcs are just getting to bloated and a lot of the single chapters have a lot of Fluff to them. But I've said before I definitely think even all the way back in WCI there was some behind the scenes drama going on with One Piece that affected the series.

What happened to Conan?

Not as much cookies as the posts I see here about jerkoffs like you who whine and bitch about everything, but never actually have anything better in mind then what happens in story.
You are crying. You quoted me because you are butthurt over me talking bad about Oda. He won't shake ur hand or give you a hug for this. Stop being weird.

This manga is not good, hasn't been for years. Telling it out loud is pure fax.

Not to rest and plan. He's been planning it for decades. He should just take a break from publishing and finish the story on his own without editors or fan feedback or movie hype or WSJ breathing down his neck. Lock himself and his assistants in his home office and just finish the story the way he imagined it when he was younger instead of trying to sustain an eternal profit machine.

Pre-TS was much better. But Oda still has a chance to redeem himself in the final saga.
Pre-ts was okay. He can't redeem the last 10 years with just one arc. If he didn't do it during Wano he won't do it in the Final arc/saga.

Redeeming/repairing mistakes takes years and tons of chapters. We are knocking at the final arc doorstep.

He can write a good ending for a sendoff but this won't erase his mistakes.
