I'm trying to understand how a supposedly "normal" cat zoan provides the user with black clouds, i'm starting to think that oda gonna retcon a LOT of former paramecias and "normal" zoans.
My next bets on unofficial retcons are: robin, akainu and kuma.
Idk, because G4 also has the cloud thing and isn't awakening, while G5 is. Honestly I'm not trying to think too hard on it, cause right now it's super confusing who's zoan powers are awakened or not.
I guess Oda wanted to make Zoan awakening distinguishable from normal Zoan forms so he came up with the black clouds thing. I wouldn't read too much into that.
Did the Impel Down jailer beasts also have the clouds? I don't quite remember. But Oda probably wanted to distinguish between non and Awakened Zoans. Which makes it more confusing cuz you got speculations about G4, Yamato or Kaido being awakened or not.
