Think it’s more likely that one of the other Vegapunks we haven’t met yet comes along because they are curious about the ship and it leads to Zoro trying to find out a bit more about Kuma.

Maybe with a Kumacop as bodyguard.

Greed, Wisdom and Thinker could all easily have an interest in a new ship showing up, especially one owned by a Yonko. Greed to steal it, Wisdom and Thinker to examine it.

Great points, there's lots of reasons for the other Vegapunks to show up. Might turn into a 3-way battle, in that case. If CP0 does show up, Vegapunk will attack them, as well.

I don’t have any expectations for it to lead to anything big like a three way battle.

Maybe a small skirmish but I don’t see any proper fights happening until the end of the arc (for the Strawhats at least) and even then I don’t think they’ll be big ones.

Admirals are capable of stalling entire crews, adCoC or not. Kuzan’s ability of freezing makes it easier for him to deal with the fodder first

My guilty dream for this arc is Kizaru vs Aokiji fighting over Vegapunk...

Kizaru has a ton of connections to Vegapunk, and Sentomaru is bound to show up at some point here, I think.

But I definitely feel that SHs might soon face an admiral or vice admiral here.

If WG wants to kill VP then sending just Cp0 will not make sense to me.

If my theory of Luffy, Zoro and Nami vs Lucci, Kaku, Stussy doesn't happens then I could see Lucci, Kaku, Stussy and Sera Kuma vs Zoro and Brook.

How would it go though? I can see it like this, Zoro taking a nap in the Sunny then Kaku appears (basically a recall of Water Seven) then Zoro makes a joke about Kaku being Usopp because of their noses then Zoro snapped to reality and say, "Who the fuck are you?" if Zoro still remembers him that is. Then Zoro and Kaku have a skirmish outside of the Sunny while Lucci Gang are waiting. Brook then ask for Stussy's panties which got rejected and Brook might fight her. Now I would say that even if Zoro is a low top tier, he can't possibly take on Lucci, Kaku, and Sera Kuma at the same time. So most likely that some other Vegapunks might intervened and turn on the switch for Sera Kuma somehow and Kuma turns against CP0 so we have Kuma vs Lucci, Zoro vs Kaku and Brook vs Stussy. Brook should be able to beat Stussy, Zoro should do the same against Kaku. Then Kuma vs Lucci might go either way so Zoro can beat whoever's left standing.

Or you know, classic Oda with the off-screen no mi just for Zoro and Brook to get kidnapped for Vegapunk's lab.:jackaugh:

Vegapunk already said he needs a ton of resources to make his science work. Blackbeard doesn't have the funding the WG does, he can't provide Vegapunk with the protect and resources needed to further his work.

If Blackbeard can't make us of Vegapunk himself, it makes sense to steal as much of his work as Blackbeard can, and then kill Vegapunk to keep him away from anyone else.
