This was my only major problem with Oda an Kid. There’s other small shit we could talk about, but this was just plain foolishness.

Kids entire hype was built around CoC, yet in his return arc, he’s not shown using it in any capacity…. Even if it was never u meant to happen now. The lack of even a basic showing just straight appalling. Especially since he has Kaido comment on the shit at the start of the arc to remind everybody.

I remember someone pointed out that the Kid and Law vs Big Mom fight was more focused on being a devil fruit user battle than a haki focused battle.

Seeing how Luffy vs Kaido has mainly been a haki focused battle, I guess Oda wanted Kid and Law vs Big Mom to be mainly a devil fruit focused battle.

Kid had 500 chapters of build up behind him, Yamato had none. But beyond that, Kid was the one Oda intended to beat a yonko this arc, Yamato wasn't.

So it doesn't make sense that the guy who beats Big Mom doesn't have ACoC, but the guy who freezes bombs does.

You can say "but it was a 2v1" and that still doesn't help when on the other hand, you have Kaido literally neg diffing pre-ACoC Luffy.

If instead of giving Kid a shitty, almost inconsequential awakening, Oda gave him ACoC instead, the fight would have made so much more sense. Kid could deal with Linlin's haki while Law deals serious damage.

Yup. Been saying this for a while. Kidd's awakening techniques should've been base devil fruit abilities. Let Kidd use brute force and unlock Advanced CoC to go toe to toe with Linlin, taking the heavy blows 60% of the time as Law uses his limited charge of awakening abilities to devastate Linlin whenever he can.

As it stands he's really an underwhelming fighter and visually uninteresting in that department. Might be the most disappointing usage of a fruit after Orochi's.
