Questions & Mysteries So, Zoro didn't invent Santoryu?

#1
So in the latest chapter of One Piece, Kawamatsu makes the comment that Urshimaru and Zoro have the same exact Sword style. If that's the case, then it's obvious Zoro isn't the one who invented it, and he was taught the style by someone else. Considering Ushimaru is a direct descendant of Ryuma, is it possible that Ryuma is the one who invented Santoryu? I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be the case.

I believe it is about power swordsmanship.
At least this how i understand it..
Yeah iirc in Thriller Bark Brook said Zoro and Ryuma are both the same “type” of swordsman. I think it was something like they were both strength or power based swordsmen so the battle will be decided quickly or smthn like that

Like you wouldn’t say Zoro and Cavendish fight the same way because Cavendish obviously isn’t a power type swordsman

Yeah exactly this!
It does make sense.
I believe if it was for ushimaru using three swords we will actual read it like the three sword style user and there was no such translation on the manga or from the spoiler providers.

Not necessarily, but possibly

Mighty Blade is a type of Swordsman, not a style one uses.

Kawamatsu explicitly states that Zoro and Ushimaru have the same Sword Style, and even in the very next spread of panels, you have a primary focus on Zoro holding a Sword in his mouth.

He does say "Style with the sword" but Santoryu is too specific to the point where they would have straight up said Santoryu.

But maybe who knows

Well it's possible it could be in reference to something else, but I just find it intriguing if there was someone else out there who used that style of Swordsmanship.

I mean in Martial Arts in general, one of the defacto reasons why Dojo's challenge each other is to prove that their style is better.

When Zoro was first introduced in his flashback, it was of him challenging Koshiros Dojo. So it would be interesting if Zoro, being from a branch family of Shimotsuki (Like some predict) is to believe their style is superior to the Main family, which is why he challenged them.
