General & Others Some one please explain why Ryuma is so highly regarded?

All we know is that he had a black blade and he beat a dragon. We don’t know who the Dragon was or how strong it was.

Why do people think he’s so strong? Because of the black blade or just because he has a sword.

I’m not saying that I think he was weak. I just saying that I don’t consider him at all when I’m powerscaling.

It seems that he single-handedly protected Wano from pirates and (apparently) even celestial dragons who desired it. (Not sure if this translation is correct though, I remember that I initially saw a version with just "nobles" on it. In any case, in terms of hype he's at least bigger than Oden.) He was possibly the strongest man of his era, most of his feats are still unknown.

He achieved something even Oden couldn’t which is the black blade so at the bare minimum he’s superior to Oden who is a monster himself.

Then you add to that his “God of The Blade” title, the fact that he kept the WG/pirates out of Wano by himself, being a Zoro parallel/prototype etc.

Obviously I don’t think anyone can really scale exactly how strong he is but he’s clearly meant to be a top tier and one of the strongest swordsmen in the series. If I had to guess I’d say he’s about as strong as Mihawk probably.

There's a good chance that Ryuma once repelled Nusjuro from Wano Country.

As that panel states, Wano was known as the Land of Gold. Nusjuro is the Godhead of Finance and has the planet Venus in his name. In East Asian astrology, Venus is regarded as the "Gold Planet" (金星, or Kinsei) and also represents the Chinese element metal. The Shodai Kitetsu meito he wields was forged by a Wano swordsmith.

Undefeated WSS, Black Blade forger, may have beaten Nusjuro, etc.

Read the manga bozo. Dragon slaying was just one of many legendary feats.

Remember this is one of Oda's early creations - among the first characters he truly cared for.
So what does that make Luffy he slayed a yonko level dragon with a black blade? That dragon shit doesn’t mean anything to me. The better argument is the black blade.

But if it turns out that GB also has a black blade that argument won’t mean shit anymore.

Xebec didn’t have a black blade either. I don’t know if that makes him weaker that Ryuma.

Read Monsters and then read Wano Act1
If I just Google monsters is it pretty easy to find?
