General & Others Straw Hats Civil War

Curious to hear when Sanji stood up for Robin, Brook and Jinbe (the same Jinbe who Sanji needlessly asked to kill himself btw) more than Zoro.
Wano has been full of Sanji and Robin points where she talked about how amazing it is for someone like him to believe in her. And we don’t even have to talk about everything Sanji did in W7 for Robin.

Brook went to WCI because he believes that Sanjis kindness knows no bounds and was willing to face down an emperor for him.

And as for Jinbe, Jinbe hasn’t shared many moments with many crew members; however, he shared the most with Sanji back in WCI. and I’m not sure why people bring up the FI scene? Sanji told him to commit seppuku which is a ritual as to regain honor in death and make up for an honorable man who lost it. Because Jinbe himself agreed that what happened to Nami was in fact his fault.

Can't wait for Jinbe's moments with the crew, those are gonna be delightful. I can see him interacting with Robin a lot in particular.

When it comes to personal affection I feel like Sanji is probably less popular than Zoro with women.
Not sure about manga but I remember the anime when Sanji had his first party with Strawhats after defeating Arlong he was drinking and hugging some girls.

It can be Zoro vs the rest of the SHs minus Luffy and Zoro will still win. This is not a civil war. It's a massacre. :brootea:
Leave Luffy with the rest of SH's and it still a massacre.

Robin is the only other SH outside of Sanji who knows what actually happened in TB. QUOTE]
Brook knows as well. He was about to adress it but managed to keep it to himself.

Team Zoro (logic and risk averse)
Robin
Jinbei
Franky
Brook

Team Sanji (emotional and naive)
Nami
Chopper
Usopp

It's not about who gets along with whom but rather how they think and react during certain situations. And it's very much a matter of age and maturity.

Zoro might come of as cold hearted even if he is right about a certain action. This will get a negative response from Nami, Chopper and Usopp.

Characters with lots of emotions like Brook and Franky will see Sanjis point but they are too experienced and mature to allow themselves to be swayed by emotion over logic, thus siding with Zoro.

And in the end Luffy is an amazing captain that is able to command both fractions into one unit.

It really depends. If the conflict had anything to do with rational thinking vs emotional thinking, Zoro would only have Robin and Jinbe on his side, as everyone else favors emotional thinking (including Luffy). But the thing is Zoro is pretty damn good when it comes to convince everyone else that his point of view is the right one, so they always end up agreeing with him even if it's not easy. It's not that Zoro is a cold guy with a lower degree of empathy but he has a certain pride and roughness which allow him to see things in an unique way in certain situations, yet he can be pretty impulsive and let his emotions dictate his actions if he feels like it's the right thing to do.

Sanji:
Nami
Robin
Usopp
Brook
Jinbe

Zoro:
Maybe Chopper
Maybe Franky

Most of the straw hats have had more meaningful moments with Sanji than Zoro. So they’d probably stand with Sanji's side as he’s saved him and stood up for them more than Zoro has.
you do know Jimbei won't follow someone like Sanji ? Sanji is too insecure for Jimbei.
Brook also follows a lot Zoro. Franky also for Zoro. Those 3 cares a lot about respect. Zoro is perfect for them to follow.
Chopper will go with Zoro whatever will happen.

Ussop trusts more on Zoro than Sanji.

Nami and Robin ? hhm to be honest with you only Robin will follow Sanji. after wci, Nami hasn't the same trust on Sanji anymore, she even said that she won't forgive him.

If Luffy dies one day, Zoro is the only one who will be capable to gather all of them, Nami won't leave and Sanji will follow her. If it's Sanji, be sure Zoro and Jimbei will leave. But probably sure Zoro will disband the SH if anything happens to Luffy.

Zoro:
Franky
Yamato
Chopper

Sanji:
Nami
Ussop
Jinbe

While idk jinbe and ussop are just a feeling they could easily go with zoro aswell

Brook idk he respects zoro(swordmaster) but also sanji (fellow pervert)

Robin is hard because of the black maria plot but also she would probably pick choopers side so idk

Many comments here seem to forget something, Zoro is the Vice-Captain, if Luffy is not there the crew follows Zoro.
I won't say they would all take Zoro over Sanji but at least most will.

It is especially interesting to see comments of Yamato going to Sanji's group when Yamato is the biggest Samurai fan in the series and Ushimaru literally saved her life and may have even told her about Zoro.

You do get that Jinbe followed Sanjis leave end of WCI before he went to pick up Luffy. In fact Jinbe actively apologized to him about the ships state. Jinbe would follow Sanji. And he showed that again in Wano when he stated his goal was to take both Luffy and Sanji to the top understanding his position was below Sanji.

Nami still relies on Sanji more than she does Zoro. She calls Zoro a brute all the time and has shown no appreciation towards him. There’s a reason she argued with Zoro in Water 7 but not Luffy.

Usopp has had more connection with Sanji than Zoro. Water 7 highlighted that when the only person who stood up for him when Luffy was about to kick him out was Sanji who told him to apologize then he gave Usopp the will to fight and reminded him of what he could do. Usopp has never shown he trusts Zoro more than Sanji.

Brook has never followed Zoro after Zoro vs Ryuma. In fact Brook stated that both Zoro and Sanji brought him to tears at the end of Thriller Bark, and there’s a reason Brook has defended Sanjis kindness and personality twice in two arcs.

Sanji has a closer connection to most of the crew than Zoro does. And that’s done on purpose. Saying the crew trusts Zoro more than Sanji is as wrong as saying Luffy trusts Sanji more than Zoro. They serve separate roles.

Sanji rallies and protects the crew, Zoro stands by and cuts what’s in Luffys way.
