Wano got a lot of hate due to many reasons, unfinished plot lines, too much side characters panel time, Scabbards getting too much focus, chosen one trope etc. (not that it was gonna be any other way but DF retcon [at least for readers] was very controversial). It was a complete story of its own attached to OP in some ways.

But setting the Wano hate aside, is Wano the strongest nation so far in the series? If Oden was alive would Wano be equal to a Yonko territory (no Kaido)? We have Scabbards ranging from YC teir to vet tier, then we also have all the different factions (Yakuza/Oniwabanshu etc.) with their own leaders and troops. Compare this to the other nations we have seen so far and bar Yonko territories Wano is probably the strongest one so far. Elbaf will probably be the only one to surpass as it is famed for its miliatry might and called the warrior nation.

If Oden was alive I think he would have been able to match a Yonko crew and territory with his force. Imagine whole Wano united under Oden it would be one of the most impressive forces so far

5 Daimyos (or 4)
Yakuza under Prime Hyogoro
Scabbards who have learned Oden Nitoryu or trained under Oden
Izo returning from WBPs and training the Scabbards some more and brining firearms (idk if Wano showed usage of firearms before Kaido)

Elbaf is Strongest
Second is between Wano & Mary Geoise

And yes if not for Beasts Pirates Invasion & Orochi's Betrayal, Wano would have easily been Comparable to a Yonko Force if not more.
Oden + Hyogoro + Scabbards (In their Prime & further Trained by Oden) + Daimyos + Mink Army + Samurai Army (Tens of Thousands who aren't Weakened due to not Fighting for Decades) + Momo ... etc

Not to mention Wano's Strategic Location & Zunisha under Momo's Command & there is also Pluton (If They can somehow make it work).
Kaidou's Top 5 are No Joke, They really were Top 5 Joy Boy Candidates. It's Sad how Everyone Hypes Roger, WB, Xebec & Shanks, but wanna exclude Oden even though He is grouped with all of them, it's worst bias i've seen from OP Fans so far tbh, like does Oda need to come out & say it on Live TV for People to realize that Oden is as Legendary & as Powerful as those Four

Shouldnt MG be excluded, the Gorosei are just too much.
Yeah I have been saying the same since forever, the Oden hate is so retarded. Everyone ranks Kaidos Top 5 in their own way to help their agenda. Some put Roger and WB above everyone in the PK tier (which doesnt even exist). Some put Rocks as strongest. Shanks and Oden are so downplayed.

It's obvious why, cuz if there are many Characters who are Roger Level, then that Level ceases to look Unique & They realize that there is Room for Higher Level, and They don't like those who are Candidates for such Hype (Mostly Mihawk, Dragon & Possibly Ryuma too).
Even though Oda always compares Roger to so many Characters, but those Three don't share their Hype with Anyone.

Damn, I was just going to make a thread regarding this, during this weekend.
I might still make it tho.

People don't realize that post Dresrossa Luffy was shocked at how strong dukes were, and Biege literally shat his pants sensing the monstrous power of base Cat.
And they weren't even the strongest (that's Kyoshiro).

Scabbards were great and they get shit on due to bad execution of the raid.

There is no we will see, it is literally confirmed to be the strongest nation.

And it doesn't matter how strong Oden is, even against an army of giants from Elbaf, Oden will eventually get defeated.

Elbaf has more hype than Wano.

More build up

Already confirmed to be the strongest nation, Wano was only hyped up for its samurais and that is it.

And finally Big Mom stated that if she had the backing of Elbaf, she could easily take on the other Yonko's.

There is no speculation or what if, Elbaf is stronger than Wano.

Oden is the actual King of Wano, and soon Momonuske (future top tier). They strong. Orochi was fodder but he was stand in for Kaido, who was the real effective King of Wano.
Tho, this is easy to say in retrospect, I believe many people expected Orochi to be strong before his reveal. Point however was that the true leaders land of samurai were/are strong.

Riku was the king of a regular country of fodders. Not a valid comparison.

Giants are a country with Vikings vibe, they worship strength and love fighting.
Their leader won't be a weakling.
