Controversial Struggling with early manga

The game is extremely complicated do I really need to go on that?

Hunter Exam seems simple but it had a bunch of tricks on it.

I rather much more a simple story where the author don't messed up than a over complicated story where the author often finds himself lost, forget the laws he created before etc.
Hunter Exam is extremely simple (except for the tower, yes, but it's a sixth of the overall arc). It's a fitness test, a cooking test, the tower, a tournament, a tournament again.
It's how you make something simple originally where Togashi shines.
My favourite manga is Slam Dunk, who couldn't be any simpler.
Then it's SBR, Jojo's seventh arc, which is extremely simple.

I am with you.

Hunter Exam begins at the travel dude...

You are forgetting the tricks on the road until what you called the first part of the exam began. It is not over complex but it is complex enough.
Yeah but it's such a small part mate.
Then you have like 3 arcs of just fighting and/or training.
Zoldyck arc, training or fighting.
Arena.
Kurapika arc, as I said.
Greed Island.

Good day JJK-Boys.

Seeing that it's a very popular manga, I decided to give it a go, read around 40 or more chapters, arrived at the school exam or something.

I just struggle to find any interest in the Manga, but I find it cool, much better than, say, MHA.

Does it get "better" later, or maybe it's just not for me?
What do you guys like about it?
I think JJk falls to pieces after the Shibuya arc. If jjk isn’t piquing your interest early on, that is a warning sign.

I find JJK’s anime being much more enjoyable than the manga. JJK, for me, no matter the format, is a 5/10 series. Ymmv

The peak for me is the Nobara then Idatori/Todo vs. Mahito battle. That battle was done wonderfully on the anime. Excellent battle

Restarted, reading the Shibuya arc up to the final confrontation with double Mahito.

It picks up a lot with this arc and it's more cohesive, and I appreciate it much more.
I still find the way scenes interconnect extremely disjointed, I believe there are too many minor characters that all want to say something, and it's not really needed imho.
But it's much better than something like MHA and dare I say, it has SOUL, so yeah, I'll definitely catch up.

It'll be interesting to hear your opinion on the following arc

It gets better, but only if you care about the characters. The story is straightforward that is "fight the curses, kill or get killed". But characters' struggle to accept this fact is done well.
As others mentioned, the focus will be on fights ... and more fights.
I am a fan of fast paced action, but I also loved mangas like Vegabond. At the end, it is up to you whether you like JJK or not.

I don't really watch Animes
It's easier to binge chapters than episodes for me
We all agree on this one!

Catch up and to be honest, the real fun is in weekly leaks thread. The experience of real time anticipation and discussion is unmatched.

Somehow I have started to like weekly leaks more than the chapter itself :sanmoji: it is what it is

I watched the first season and I forgot ever name except Sakura and gojo.
Oh, this is also another problem.
I seem to be unable to remember any name except gojo, Todou and toji.

Mahito causing Todou to lose his CT is absolutely terrible.
Mahito is a terrible character that I despise, even the plant guy was more interesting than him, and Todou sacrificing his technique to not even defeat him leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Mahito is commonly considered to be the best antagonist. He's made to be hated

I think I like what Gege tried to do with Mahito, a fearsome enemy, a perfect ying for itadori's yang. The problem is that until Shibuya, he never felt particularly threatening.
I think he should have had Mihito kill (or wound) the nail girl and fight more.. Intensely before Shibuya. Instead the fight with Nanami he felt strong but still couldn't kill Nanami, it could have been nice to have him show a more ruthless character there.
Instead in Shibuya he does everything back2back, making it a bit rushed to generate fear for him so quickly.
