General & Others Surprise! This isn’t Franky’s arc after all

#23
@Salah WG Read the above post. Wano is not Zoro’s arc unless you change the general understanding of what that statement even means because you cannot compare Wano and Zoro to any other arc like Arlong park and Nami
So for Wano to be Zoro's Arc, it must be his Recruitment or Flashback Arc?
Name me an Arc that you can associate with a SH & they didn't have a Flashback in it?

People would be tripping if they think Wano did Zoro's character any favors.
No proper flashback and some half-assed lineage traced to Shimotsuki bloodline. Even his new sword was used to wank Oden.
Zoro did well in terms of feats/fights, but not character. And he'll get nothing for his character in the near future.

As for Franky, he's unfortunately too irrelevant to get that kind of focus.

Wano wasn’t “Zoro’s arc”, but it was an arc extremely important to Zoro. So Oda gave Zoro a moment he usually doesn’t, letting him fight the main antagonist on the rooftop.

Similarly, Franky will probably do something this arc, whatever that might be.

I think arcs built around a certain SH are a thing of the past, or rather a thing belonging to the realm of fan expectations. With how much more past lore and future plot Oda has to go through, and with how the experience so far has tired when not down right aged him, arcs nowadays can only be about what plot point needs to be reached next, having the SHs reactions to it as a sidenote, an afterthought, and always keeping Luffy in the spotlight because, well, not only is he the protagonist, but he IS the plot, both in his inherited will of the Past Lore and in his instrumentality to rendering a reality the Future Plot.

We no longer live and breathe character-driven adventure pieces which also happen to tie-in nicely with the capital S Story. No, we're now eating main dishes of Story with a side dish of Story and a dessert of maybe-character.

Even if we went to the Snipers' Island now, I'd expect it to deliver on more Rocks, Shanks, Roger and Ancient Kingdom, with only half chapter or thereabouts of the entire arc actually giving the crew's resident sniper anything directly related to the island. If the overarching plot doesn't benefit from it, Oda seems to believe, either the anime will build on it, or the fans will detail entire conjectures on that other fans might find interesting enough, thus keeping the appeal of the One Piece story and universe alive.

I don't think there will be enough time on egg head to give much focus to the strawhats individually especially with the wg actively trying to kill vp. More than likely if we see some interactions between Franky and vegapunk it will be on the sunny after things calm down a little.

As long as Oda doesn’t try to half-bake Franky into the arc, It's gonna be fine.

Oda's sin with Zoro in Wano was that he kept hinting at stuff but ultimately did nothing with it.
I'm still holding out hopes that we see zoro's ties to wano and some flashbacks from wano later on. I would anticipate they will be around his fight with mihawk and/or whenever/if we meet whoever took the people from wano to the east blue.

Zoro as a character, just like luffy, is bland af. He gets a lot of power ups and fight related upgrades, but when it comes to him as a character, he ´s pretty much the same guy from 900 chapters ago with the difference that he´s stronger now

I’m actually shocked Franky isn’t getting any focus, even Zoro got some type of spotlight in Wano. Hell Robin got a big moment in this arc, reminds me of Sanji getting his character moment in the Queen battle.

I think people need to understand we aren't getting another Whole cake type arc except for maybe elbaf. Making Sanji the protagonist for his arc worked because of the relevance of judge and the technology he introduced. Whole cake drove the story forward and built Sanji up at the same time.

A sudden deep dive into Franky out of nowhere would probably be jarring

He just wasn't a center piece.
But m8, he was there for a big chunk of major points.
First one to meet Hyori, had his own solo plot during first half of Wano.
Got a new toy that belonged to one of the most hard wanked characters in the series, despite being trash.
Had a "Supernova" big participation during Roof Piece.
Got compared to lots of samurais, including the most famous of them, Ryuma.
Got a major feat by being the second character in the story to be able to permanently scar Kaido.
Got CoC.
Shitted on Killer.
Shitted on Apoo.
But geez, guess Zoro wasn't that important at all.
wah wah wah....
:pepecafe:
If he wasnt a center piece then its not his arc lol

Y’all just keep sleeping on Franky, wouldn’t be the first time this fandom has collectively looked in the wrong direction for an unassailably rad character to support…the arc isn’t over yet and Oda gives the cyborg more moments to shine than y’all pay attention to, I know something huge is in store for my guy whether it’s in Egghead or elsewhere in the future
