General & Others Sword/Katana Problem in One Piece

Better sword is a better weapon of course, its hardness and sharpness is a good offensive and defensive tool. You dont have to tank attacks by your own body, a good and hard sword will take the attacks for you. And black blades are even better since they dont bend even a little even if a dinosaur steps on them, so using a weapon is a better insurance compared to taking attacks yourself or trying to make your own body sharper and harder when you attack.
I don't know what is so confusing for people to understand. Swordsman and sword grade go hand in hand. If you are a novice swordsman you cannot use great swords to their fullest potential, maybe you become worse off or you get better in one area but bad in another or die if you use Enma.
Just look at Zoro's swords and his comments about them when he first uses them:
1. Yubashiri: Light, allows moving faster, does as Zoro wants. Sword that was appropriate to Zoro's level at that time.
2. Sandai: Even though lower grade, it was still very sharp and eager to kill/cut. A problem child, Zoro had to tame it.
3. Shusui: Heavy, powerful. Zoro was slow with it but overall stronger attacks, Zoro had to grow stronger to use it as he wants.
4. Enma: Haki sucker. Zoro had to prove himself by going all out with haki, now he seems to be using it without issue or as he said light as a feather.
Basically if you are able to use a sword lightly like a feather it means that the wielder has gotten accustomed to it and can use it to almost maximum potential. Of course the max potential would be when the sword is forged black. So you need stronger will, greater physical strength and bigger haki pool to master the highest tier swords.
Give Zoro Yubashiri or something like that and it might not be able to channel Zoro's full power now. Give him a supreme grade sword and he will have to learn something to master it. But give any Scabbard Enma and they will greatly suffer.

What they usually mean is it doesn't help users if they're not skilled enough.
Specially the stronger the sword gets in comparison to top tier devil fruits.
Example 1:
Fodder becomes powerful if he eats Magma Fruit.
Fodder dies by wielding Enma.
Example 2:
Nika-Nika Fruit, Luffy for no reason at all, suddenly knows he has an ability to pump his heart that can regenerate his body from dying to 100%.

Zoro didn't get stronger by using Enma, he released enough of his beginning of post timeskip strength to be able to use it at full power, before he did that he was nerfed to YC1 level. Read the Zoro vs King fight and watch the Zoro vs King in the anime, he's literally on par with a YC1 without using haki!

Marco couldn't even damage King's suit.
A powerful sword just makes you slightly more powerful when you master it, and even then some have other characteristics, but yes, it is an improvement.
But an akuma no mi from a god makes you invulnerable to certain attacks, blows, lightning, gives you greater range and blow power, increases your speed, resistance and gives you versatility. Give a fodder a Supreme grade and he will remain a fodder unless he works very hard. And even then is not a shortcut.
Give a fodder Goro Goro no mi and he will be worth 500m.
No one in the manga so far, that was not interested in weapons, ever gave a fuck even about Supreme grades.
