First of all before every Erkan-like member of this forum gang up on me i have to say that yes, Teach will end up as a top tier fighter narrative wise but the thing is that both he and his crew lack hype moments.
To catch up with "blah blah Mihawk no hype, Dragon no hype" etc, BB was established as the final or one of the final enemies of the MC of the story so its not the same thing.
Yes i know he is an anti-Luffy, he is progressing with him and all these things but lets be honest, the guy was introduced 20 years ago and his top moments are these:
BB vs Ace - win
BB vs Magellan - BB gets stomped tho Mag's df is a tricky one.
BB vs Luffy - i dont like bringing up pre ts skirmishes but his screams against a hakiless g2 Luffy was a disgrace to the character.
BB vs WB - Deadbeard was about to finish him despite the fact that he had no more than 1-2% hp and he was ganged up by BBP
BB vs Garp/Sengoku - imo if the battle would last longer BBP would be destroyed, he was lucky that Shanks arrived and stopped the war.
BB runs away from Akainu was also a bad portrayal although i believe that if they decided to gang up on him they could win.
BB at AL was also a bad portrayal, because even if Ray admitted that he couldnt defeat him at his age its still looking bad that he traveled all they way to obtain Hancock's df only to run away from an old man.
All in all, my point is that Oda didnt handle well his character and missed many opportunities to establish him as a final opponent material.
