General & Others The admirals are not Sakazuki’s all star equivalent

His image Indeed took a blow, but imho way stronger that any other character would have bacause Admirals have always something to demonstrate to people.
Imu was shown kneeling, shaking and screaming for Joy Boy's haki; BB, the pirate final villain and the one who will kill Shanks, looks like a clown 99% of the time and did last time against old ray, still no one doubt he Is business.
An Admiral does that with all the things I said before (talk about the whole RHP, what Kaido did in the past, etc.) and suddenly he Is a paria among top tiers. Imho, he isn't, just like Imu Isn't or BB Isn't.

About Fujitora, my long lasting theory Is that him Is focused on CoO, so no Black Blade but still a Saijo, and Ryokugyu on CoA, so Black Blade but possibly no Saijo, maybe O Wazamono.
Ok, I get your point. Imo the problem is in the admiral fandom, or better the fandoms in general, and in the particular the situation GB was in, btw I also admit I believe the admirals are over hyped so just to say that I come from an entirely different position.

GB arrived and was first seen butchering both King and Queen together, the admiral fans get hyped to the heavens while the other fandom who had grudges with the admiral ones and/or didn't like to see what GB was doing (Zoro fans: ruining "King is strong" agenda, yonko fans: ruining the "admiral is a bit stronger than a YC1" agenda, plus the ancestral grudge between yonko and admiral fans etc.) started to worry and of course to fire back how they could. At that point if I remember correctly there was Lee pumping the "GB will solo the alliance" claim.. and that was already a mistake like Zoro fans with ZKK or Sugoi with his "Kidd will beat Shanks" thread. GB was also cocky as hell (and that was already a red flag) and of course when Shanks did what he did the whole stuff was submerged with laughter. It is a problem that originates from over boasting but also from how some fandoms are set in a perpetual holy war.

To make an example there is now Shanks who is hated by a lot of people (admiral, Kidd, Kaido, Mihawk/Zoro fans) and already takes a lot of rage over nothing (the snitch/rat thing is funny but let's also say it is a bit overused lol), and that is maybe the only involuntary "weakness" Oda gave him by just having him go asking people to deal with BB. If Oda makes him fall in a situation like GB or Kidd then people will laugh at him for decades for revenge for what he did to Kidd, GB etc.

About Im the point is that Im has no fandom basically, who would root for a dark silhouette who did nothing bar bark orders so far, sure many believe he is the final villain / strongest in the verse but he has not (can't have) any real appeal so far, so people really don't care about clowning him down or hyping him up, even more when the other said is Joyboy who is even more mysterious. BB on the other hand gets a bit of hate from some fandoms and the BB fandom gives it back (Erkan) but BB has been shown as a character that grows in power with time and also is the most likely to become the final villain so joking on him could be troublesome when it could come a day where he can low diff an admiral/yonko/Zoro etc. also him being a coward, or better an opportunist that fights only when he can gain something is part of his character like Luffy being a moron etc. the admiral are usually stern and stoic characters so when they start cocky like GB and then get humbled they get double the blame, it is the same with BM who was introduced like a fearsome yonko but it was then nicknamed big meme for the treatment Oda give her. At this point probably even her while fandom was erased by laughter.

Stop comparing Zoro with Luffy

Zoro is yet to reach top tier status
His next opponent is Shiryu (who will be below Admirals/Gorosei) and zoro will need PU to beat Shiryu

Zoro will be admiral level if he beats Shiryu with PU or when he fights Gorosei/Admirals 1v1
I don't think he will take Shilliew as his next big foe for 2 reasons:

1) If he fights Shilliew then that means the SHs are fighting with BB which is far too soon.

2) Honestly I doubt this Shilliew, the one we saw fighting Garp, is above YC1 level, at best on par. He was shown as clearly weaker than Aokiji, even more so compared to Garp, that at best is YC1 level.

Also he just had Lucci who can be said to be around YC1 level too and did other stuff beside Lucci too (just like he did other stuff aside from King in Wano too), so imo he has to deal with an admiral lvl enemy sooner than later. But I can agree with you that we would really be 100% sure he is there when he beat an admiral/gorosei or equivalent.

Most captains are much stronger than their subordinates

Given how the marines are tbh structured like a yonko crew, I see no reason why this logic wouldn’t apply to the marines.

Akainu>>admirals

There’s a reason he was the one who primarily fought and damaged WB in marineford.

Navy is a military not a crew

Yeah, fandoms being fandoms overall lol.
Anyway, agenda side, I think Oda Is very...free in what he does. One moment he clowns some dude and the second after the same dude can be the strongest in the universe if plot demans It.

I mean, I was rereading Onigashima and Benn saying to Shanks himself (the same Shanks with a billion bounty and the legendary duels with Mihawk) "be careful, there Is a Cp-9 member on the ship" (lol) or sometiny along those lines didn't make any sense. Still, WW was to be hyped and so that was.
Not much after WW was beaten by Jinbe.

The same happens to everybody. One can be "weak" or "strong" or better yet se semes weak or strong depending just on that: the moment.

Aokiji vs Akainu and this:

Should enough of a proof that Admirals are near each other in power.
Even though yeah, FAs are above.

Oda himself defined Mihawk as a legendary character along with WB and Shanks in a sbs (a sbs if I remember correctly).
Mistranslation.
word "legendary" was never used, he just took these pirate characters as an example
And indeed Mihawk uses a blade in every fight, even to bully Buggy, same for Zoro. If somebody has a black blade then he should be world level sword master yet it was like that sword didn't exist.
or you know, GB can use his DF instead of sword?
Not his fault that bitchhawk now uses yoru to even bully Buggy.

Oda clearly doesn't wanna reveal his abilities. Did you not see how he made Queen hold back against Yonko Meme?
He made Queen hold back his cybernetics, hybrid, snake, germa....etc.

Anyway for the way he acted and is shown by Oda in the whole manga that definition fits for me. Even if that has been ruined a bit since when he is part of Buggy's joke.

That is already a sign, Ryuma uses only a sword (as far as we know but that is pretty much 100% true), Mihawk is the same and Zoro too (as the most likely 3rd black sword maker and user in the verse). It is very plausible that in order to achieve that feat you have to dedicate your whole self and life to the sword like these people do... Or you are a genius of such a magnitude that you can both master the sword to the extreme and have huge df skills too.
