Seems like the story parts are structured in such a way that the fishmen are the ultimate big bad.
East Blue ended with Arlong as the top dog.
Paradise ended with Hody Jones as the top dog, FMI is the last stop before the New World.

New World or rather Final Saga will likely also have a fishman at the end of it.
And since we had Strawhats utterly demolishing fishmen in the previous two encounters, it's time for a payback.
Davy Jones will also be a fishman, a final villain material.

I wonder if he's gonna be the pirate with the eyepatch, cuz JoyBoy is already here ( Luffy ) we don't need another one, maybe Davy Jones was even friends with him....or maybe he was a past pirate king and decided to lurk waiting for the " right time " ? ( whatever the fk that means )

We know that it was said Roger was the only one who reached laugh tale in the last 800 years but we also know that every time someone does something naughty the WG erase them from history...hmm really interesting! ( these will likely all be retcons ofc but so far they've been allright )
