I'm not really caught up on what happened with Dirty Larry. I just came back a few weeks ago. I left a message on his profile to clear the air if he was offended. I definitely didn't mean any.
Ahh that's all good! I think you're fine in all seriousness or you should be really tbh.
Regarding the DirtyLarry incident, he was provoking Lance by reposting his summaries but changing Yamato from being referred to he to she, Lance was posting Yamato as male in his summaries but Larry was insisting on posting Yamato as female and it angered Lance and led to drama between them. Larry has been doubling down and acting like a jerk even after coming back after being banned and has been banned again I believe?
It was some real pettiness and lack of respect for what Lance does. I'm so sick of Yamato's gender being a constant hot topic of argument in the community too. We finally got a break from it but then it happened again recently, especially thanks to the anime reveal of her I think too? A resurgence of it? Also the Larry and Lance incident?
Lance was threatening to stop posting spoilers here or at least hints, maybe both I believe because of this incident. Well that and AdmiralKinyagi also upsetting him by "joking" that Lance had died which was sick and not a joke in the slightest sense at all. Just complete dissocation of being human/lacking empathy and even reason/common sense even.
Some people have no idea the risks leakers take and how far they go for us and how much we take them for granted and how much they provide for us. We have spoilers because of them and they face literal potential jail time/arrests/massive fines and so on due to what they do.
SupMatto tried to leak stuff on Borderlands 3 during a live reveal for it and 2K and Take 2 Interactive sent "some people" or even "personal investigators" (thugs) to silence him and it led him to quitting social media permanently. He wasn't able to post videos on BL3 at least due to that, they intimidated him into silence. I noticed a certain other Youtuber for Borderlands also went quiet for a long time and seems to have quit Youtube after doing similar stuff to SupMatto too.
I don't say SupMatto was innocent in this situation but I think 2K went too far as well. Leaks can actually work in favour of the product you're trying to sell too. He wasn't leaking game codes or supporting piracy or anything, not trying to distribute cracked copies of the game or whatever.
Ad far as I know, nobody has heard of what has happened to him since he deleted all his social media 2 years ago and what happened to him, where is his, how he's doing etc is all a mystery to the internet right now. At least the majority of people, his fans even and such.
I'd say given the response to how he was treated did far more harm to Borderlands 3 than what his leaks did and could have done. The story was so bad, it upset a LOT of people including me too.
