--Awakening is stupid when you have characters like enel , gecko moria , crocodile having mastered their DF's and still are not awakened :kobeha::kobeha:

--Its obviously a plot narrative power and oda will give to anyone depending on the need of plot (BM had her DF since she was 5 year old also)
Not everyone gets an awakening it doesn't matter how much you've mastered your devil fruit.

Yeah I'd much prefer that outcome tbh. Although it still frustrates me that the Calamities or at least King didn't have awakening but neither did Cracker as far as we know and I seriously doubt Smoothie has it too sadly. But even Kaido and BM have not confiremd awakenings yet and that is insane! A battle focused crew like Kaidos should have several awakened users in theory but this is the guy with 500 gifters instead of loads of Zoans so maybe I expected too much? BM was able to procure tons of DFs for her family but Kaido couldnt do the same too for his crew?

Idk, this is just so ridiculous to me. Oda could have at least hyped up and redeemed Jack by giving him Awakening too but King should have had it at least as well as Kaido. Katakuri had Awakening and FS, what did King have aside from his Zoan and Lunarian Lineage? King doesn't have Coc apparently too? Wtf Oda? A guy called King with no Kings Haki lmfao. Why did Katakuri have it but not KING?! Sigh. A CoC themed arc and King doesn't even have it....SIGH.
King doesnt rely on his fruit, he relies much more on his Lunarian powers, so it makes sense that he didnt push his fruit to the point of awakening

The translation is not correct in this scan.

This is what Doffy meant to say

"Devil Fruit abilities have a whole other stage to them. It’s called "Awakening"! Very rarely, an ability will "awaken", and begin to affect things other than the user's own body!

This implies DF can be awakened but it's rare to awaken the df because it requires mastery over your own DF.

Is it linked to CoC? No indication but we have evidence which counters it.

Law hasn't shown CoC yet he has awakening

Prison guards in Impel down had no CoC yet they had awakening.
Ah that makes it better, I wasn't sure which one was the best translation. I hate trying to research these things, trying to make sure it's accurate and such lol.

Yeah, Law getting awakening without CoC killed my idea of CoC needed for awakening, it was an idea of mine for years until now.

And yeah you're right actually, those prison guads didn't have it either, so it was already disproven back then.

I swear Moria and especially Enel and Crocodile must have awakenings too, but its on Oda whether he will confirm that or not. We've had subtle evidence of it in the story imo, although Moria not so much I guess? He's more of a wishful think, but he seemed to have masted his DF too at least? Plus he was equal to Kaido back in the day or so...

One piece would have been lot better for both us and Oda if Oda would have established Haki system and awakening (and how these works) clearly either during TS or post TS instead of gradually unlocking their secrets which irks of inconsistency
More like in the first few arcs. There is zero reasons why Pell didn't have Haki given that Alabasta could have easily hired a Marine Officer to train him

I actually wish haki never became a thing ,but if it was going to be a thing, it should have been introduced by Crocus from the moment straw hats entered Paradise

Yeah that seems like the case, its just frustrating as I'd like Zoan awakenings to return and yet they haven't in a Beast/Zoan themed arc. Also more awakenings in general. King being a Lunarian has helped him so much and its cool, more lore/world building and such too but like Queen being a cyborg and having Germa powers, also feels like a convenient way to avoid giving them awakenings? Also the lack of haki usage this arc ironically?

Jack is meant to be a Fishman but that was almost pointless so far except ensuring his survival when he was sunk much earlier. He lasted 5 days v the Minks offscreen so he could have been the best candidate for awakening in the crew alternatively aside from Kaido ofc. Would have explained why Kaido was so forgiving and optimistic towards him too.
