Think about Naruto and Ichigo. They both had those powers innately and it gave them huge boosts in strength without being able to control it. At some point he'll control it and it'll give him new applications of it.

What I think we'll see is the non-Gear version of it. Once he knows what it is, it'll apply to G2-4 in its own way or just Gear 5.
