Because the writing (showing the grim reaper then focusing on zoro chapters later) alludes to their being something more happening to him. If oda wanted zoro fighting king to be his great moment then he shouldn't have ever focused on zoro suffering from the after affects until after luffy defeated kaido in wano. Oda should have simply written him being knocked out and later have no focus on him

There is just as much "focus" on other strawhats as Zoro lol. Oda updates the status of his characters frequently. You are making his hallucinations from the medicine seem more important to the plot than they are currently.
