Powerscaling doesn't have to make sense. It's like a dick measuring contest. It's just fun discussing who beats who.
To your point, yes it does make a difference having or not having 8 gates. Because, if guy hadn't stalled madara, they would all be dead right there. It could be the difference between your comrades surviving or dying.

They should have done what they do in any coherent manga, mention it when it is used.
They spammed Edo Tensei in the middle of a war and no one mentions anything, Orochimaru uses it in the creator's own village and no one mentions anything, not even the creator himself mentions it.

Again I see your point but even that isn't true since Minato kakashi and Lee still had to be use to stall in this scenario.
Gai ended up damaged
Madera was alive healed and was fine
Naruto still had to save gai
Naruto still damaged Madera without having to kill himself.
Again 8 gates is great but it's terrible to use in a powescaling debate since you die.
Are we using the androids ability to detonate as a universal power scaling feat? No.
Do we use one piece hax to power scale offense and defense capabilities? No
Same applies here

Bruh. They mentioned it in the middle of the war though? When orochi revived the kage, Tobirama said "I created this jutsu, you think you can use it against me" Or something like that. And in the hiruzen vs orochimaru battle, hashi and tobi didn't have the ability to speak or do things themselves iirc.
And, most importantly, most of the jutsu tobirama created were considered forbidden because they were so dangerous. So of course other characters don't know much about them.
