Well, I wouldn't say headcanon. I've only ever called it a theory, because it made sense from a card ranking perspective. It should exist technically
That said, I still think its possible with Yamato, being she is Kaido's child. Labeling her the Ace would just make sense, even if she's not the strongest. Anyhow, while they are virtually fodder, we still haven't seen 5 Numbers still, so i wouldn't find it at all shocking if the Ace was introduced as an Act 3 closer to show how hopeless everything is, but I personally doubt it

well, Yamato appear first time back then in Oden flashback, and we see her full appearance with mask in chapter 983, and her full appearance without her mask in 984.
Its been 12 chapters apart after her introduction.
Wano arc started from chapter 909, and we about to enter chapter 997.
If we keep assuming "Ace" is not Yamato, so Kaido might be the "Ace" and the mysterious guy in Punk Hazard when he call "Tell this to Jack" could be King/Queen early design.

Mysterious guy could just be Kaido's early design too, he could have been bald/slim at first, but later silhouettes drew him similarly too before he was redesigned with long hair.
Not sure. At this point im just not expecting anyone current to be called Ace at all because it likely would have been mentioned already.
If there was a legit Ace, like a new character, it would 100% have to be someone just not at Onigashima right now or just someone who does not give a fuck about Kaido or whats going on.
I did joke about it being the person Sanji heard last chapter, but that ain't happening lol
