Marco isn't a main character and nothing else about this arc truly has paralleled off of Enies Lobby.
You need to wait until you see what Zoro does first before claiming Marco is here to specifically hold off King. We are almost there, a few chapters at most.
Fair, I guess we will see. I'm still lying towards Luffy and Zoro vs Kaido, otherwise the character arc Zoro went through during act 1 and 2 and the establishment built up through chapter 980-1010 would be meaningless.
Since when does Marco win a match? Or beat someone? Or dominate?
The guy is a certified loser :
Couldn't beat a VA at MF
Lost to Teach badly
Choked by Linlin
trolled by Kizaru
Can't dominate Base King 1v1 for 30+ min now
Never won any battle

Guys...not really. He had his moment against Kaido already lol. Kaido already acknowledged his Kings Haki. He already permanently scarred him after surviving Hakai. The plotline already finished. This is why he leaves it to Luffy and tells Sanji to go to the performance floor.
The arc is about Luffy defeating Kaido, not Zoro. Honestly, it's weird how there is a bias against the main character like this. This is like Kid and Killer spending the same time going after Kaido, only to have new goals post rooftop.
