Honestly, I’m starting to think Kin’emon should be the only one to survive the war...he’ll be reunited with O-Tsuru and can guide Momo as he becomes shogun, but Kaido’s defeat won’t restore his old master and it’ll come at the cost of the lives of all his friends. A bittersweet conclusion for him, but I think he among all the Scabbards deserves something more than a noble death in combat.
He has seen enough. Seeing Oden getting boiled while all of them sit on top of him, was painful enough for them. They are already crying as they know they cannot do anything, you can feel their helplessness. If all of the scabbards die except Kinemon, then I think Kinemon will feel like a walking corpse. Could not protect his master and failed to die along with his friends.
