The problem with this is Zoan and Paramecia awakenings are clearly different. Paramecia's are enhanced attacks or abilities that affect the environment or target. Zoan awakenings (by Kaido's definition) are obvious/complete transformations.
Luffy, being a mythical zoan, has both Paramecia and Zoan traits (he transforms, strengthens his rubber abilities and can transform the environment and victim into rubber).
By this affect, Kaido really should have another major form like Luffy. Not a "susanoo" like armor where he has the same dragon form. Not a temporary transformation he uses sometimes when he makes big attacks. None of these fit what Luffy does.
This is why it's jarring that we haven't seen anything yet from him, or even if we will at all. He really "should" have exactly what Luffy has being a zoan user that has defined Luffy's own Awakening.

It seems the only way to activate zoan awakening is by being beaten up into unconsciousness. That would explain why we haven't seen any in this arc, which is the arc of the zoan users, and why the awakened impel down guards spent all day being beat up by the chief guard.
That's why it would make sense if the Tobi Roppo and the calamities awakened, and that's what happened to Luffy too.

A transfer student at her new high school, Chihiro Watanuki is helped out by a student while finding a place to park her bicycle. After her class introduction concludes, she finds out that her seat is right next to the boy who helped her earlier that day. Her classmates inform her that he is Yuji Yugami, the ace of the Baseball Club. However, they also advise her to stay away from him, as he is known to be a bonafide weirdo and his actions are incomprehensible to most people. Unconvinced, she attempts to interact with him, quickly realizing that he is nothing but a pain to talk to and that the rumors were indeed true.

I'd say you'd at least need to be pushed to your limit potentially. For someone like Kaido, it's just that he has so much fight left in him that pushing him to this point takes an extraordinary amount of time. Not only that, I'd imagine it's a huge waste of energy if he can just keep up with Luffy at this point already.
Idk, we have to wait and see what happens this week. If this is it....then at this point it is pretty lame that a Yonko antagonist couldn't output the same type of awakening as a mythical zoan. If not, then at least it explains why he's waited so long to use it. I can imagine Zoan awakenings are just far harder to achieve than paramecia, so it's potentially why none of the F6 or Calamities had it.

No I think the normal way to awaken any df zoans included is constant train over long perio of time. Getting beaten is just Luffy short cut to learning it doesn’t work out that way usually

I have memory of Vegeta saying some BS like that, so he asks Krilin to beat him until he's almost dead, and the little green kid to heal him so he would get an instant power boost
I wonder why they didnt do that more often instead of training. Seems way more practical.

mythical zoans = are specifically based on the mythology of the animal or person so that is why the nika mythical awakening is clearly different from normal and so is the azura, I strongly believe from start to finish kaido has been awakened and that is the final step for luffy a constant base form awakening. or some type of awakening through haki that is exclusive to people like him Rodger or roxx

Yeah but that dismissed the point that I made with it being different then a normal zoan, the run of the mill are obv transformations to a monstrous form hence chopper but kaido doesn't need to change to be awakened IMO because azura dragon is already a god. unless there is a mythological human form of the god that is very well known in this was his actual awakening.
