Kripke didnt like Homelander getting fans . Starr acted brilliantly he was supposed to be smart but s2/s3 he was made into Right wing Maga with political induced shit. I feel writers went way too woke with the series.

Agreed on everything, s1 Homelander was psychotic and evil in a way that made perfect sense for the premise. Still delivered a great performance through s4 and s5 even though they shat all over his character’s writing. Somebody should cast Urban and Antony in a Nolan crime thriller or something. What a duo.
How tf was Butcher holding his own against V1 Homelander again?? And Homelander can easily cut Kimiko in half with his lasers, he did it on the first episode. Homelander is also so fucking fast, he’s around A-train’s speed if he wants to. The same A-train that is imperceivable by Butcher and yet Homelander can’t fly out a tiny fucking room. Homelander even flew a guy up through space WITHIN seconds in this episode. Logic just went out the window, terrible terrible writing.
They easily could have, even 2 hours is easily negotiable. it’s one of Prime’s biggest IPs 😂. In an alternate universe, one with competent showrunners, the finale would have Homelander wrecking New York in a 30-minute epic fight. That’s what he promised to Starlight, that was the scorched Earth vision that they kept teasing. Instead, we got a 5-minute fight in a little white room where his lasers somehow can’t even cut Kimiko in half.

Like i said Boys was caught in political wind. Kripke probably didnt like Homelander and tried every way to dehype made him look like Trump . I just think he purposely ruined it and in process the fans will punish him . His spin off wont run beyond single season.

You’re right, I’m just now learning how he hates that Homelander has a lot of fans lol. What a shame, series could have been in the history books if he could just separate his feelings 😅. The thing is, he could have humiliated Homelander the same way but just give us more stakes prior to that ending, deliver on what was advertised. That would have been a good balance between his political views, and what’s actually good for the show.
