Synopsis:
Great heroes and diabolical villains are the types of characters that people long to be—but not Cid Kagenou. He longs to become the true mastermind behind it all, pulling the strings, and having his machinations drive the entire story. In his previous life in modern-day Japan, he was not able to achieve his goals. But now, reborn into a world of magic, he will show the true eminence of shadow!

As Cid pretends to be just another average mob character, he recruits members to his (fake) organization Shadow Garden, aiming to take down the mysterious cult who lurks in the shadows. With plenty of ad-libs, Cid leads his (fake) organization against the foul (yet surprisingly real) Diabolos Cult.

Yeah first ep was confusing because it followed the light novel instead of the manga. If it was manga adaptation then it would be easier to understand what's going on.

Fran is definitely cute and wholesome which is why I can't lewd her unlike all the babes in Eminence in Shadow. And in terms of Isekai content, EiS > Tenken imo.

But there's no doubt that those two are the best Isekai of this season.:cheers:

I really like how similar both EiS and Overlord are.

Both Cid and Ainz have the "tough and cruel on the outside but soft and unwary inside" mentality.
Both Shadow Garden and Pleiades are named after Greek alphabet.
Shadow Garden are basically equivalent to the Floor Guardians in overall structure and rankings.
Both series' opening and ending songs are sung by OxT.
Both Cid and Ainz got showered with "Sasuga....-sama" by their most intelligent subordinates (Beta and Demiurge).
Both Cid and Ainz's "plans" somehow become true and accomplished.
Both Cid and Ainz got cool drips.

I hope I don't forget anything else.

Also, EiS got their own Ple Ple Pleiades mini-show called "Kagejitsu" lol. Which means that the chance of them getting into Isekai Quartet is pretty high. I'm happy about it.
