Oda's notes says there were 50k total pirates and the manga states there are 100k marines

Half the Marines going after them even the numbers out because all the pirates were at the same place

Gorosei, while using some of the most hax abilities, failed miserably. Their only redeeming factor is that they managed to not get bodied so far.

The sad truth is that no antagonist in One Piece is and will ever truly be competent nor spared from the plot handicaps allowing the Straw Hats to always survive, escape and win in the end.

If you want a story with really competent and terrifying villains, and where the protagonists face real defeats, setbacks and casualties then don't pick One Piece.

How about you post what they FAILED to accomplish in fighting:
-couldn't get past fodder giants
-couldn't beat fodder strawhats
-failed to kill a 12yr old girl in his hands
-failed to even kill Vegapunk (Kizaru had to do it)
-failed to kill Nika who was laying knocked out on the ground from fighting Kizaru
-failed to damage the Sunny

They can only "accomplish" things when there's no one there to stop them. And btw, there's 5 of these fuckers, and you are wanking them for "finding a room" do you hear how low your bar for them is?

The Gorosei accomplished most of their objectives. I think Boa Seraphim will be a SH ally and soon, though. I also wonder about Jinbe-S.

But, the VP transmission is, potentially, THE game changer. The Ds, being alerted, may need to focus on their mutual enemy and make an alliance. The Gorosei were not, undserstandably, prepared for the transmission.
