Akainu's just a henchman of the Gorosei, he's the equivalent of like a Queen or Jack and as such will either be fought by someone other than Luffy or Blueno'd

Under the same logic, Oda must view Akainu as more important than BB and Shanks. Burgess has more panel time than BB so that means Burgess is a bigger villain than BB since they are in the same faction?

Because they are the bigger.villains. akainu is more of an antagonist while the gorosei lead the organization responsible for the world being all fucked up
Who cares about Akainu, the guy is like the fifith in the line of command in his organization, doubt that he will fight anyone more revelante than Sabo in the final war
