I never once thought Law was over Luffy because I always have and I always will put more into portrayal than feats. Especially for characters who we haven’t seen fight much. From the arc the Supernova was introduced it was obvious to me that Luffy would be above all the other captains because he was the only one who had another Supernova on his crew. Only other dude who had the distinct honor of having another Supernova on his crew was Kidd. This to me was the first sign that Luffy and Kidd were a cut above the other Supernova captains. From then on the author continued to draw even more parallels between only Luffy and Kidd (CoC, ambition, willpower, ideologies, ect). Kidd is not Law people need to stop attaching and comparing them to each other. Two different characters two different levels of hype/portrayal. The only Supernova who has EVER been portrayed as a true rival to Luffy is Kidd. The sooner y’all recognize this the less you will be surprised at the end of Wano.

1. To make Luffy constantly salty at him (even when Kidd isn't paying attention to him) means that he sees him as a true competitor, his strenght is implied in this but anyway Kidd will show it during the progress of the battle

The Strawhat Pirates would put up a better fight against the Blackbeard Pirates than the Kid Pirates would against the Strawhats.
Kid’s as much a rival to Luffy as Smoker is. Less even, given Smoker actually fought Luffy a couple of times while also working alongside him. Kid’s just leapt right into being Luffy’s backup.
Kid would genuinely be a better rival to Law than he would Luffy.

There’s one chapter in PH where Smoker, not even in his body, has fought Luffy more than Kid ever has, with Luffy saying he wants to fight Smoker at full power. And that’s post-timeskip. Pre-skip Smoker shits all over Kid in the rival stakes, being a vastly more important character then

I’m pretty sure Nami and Usopp would stomp Heat and Wire, so that’s not saying much. And Smoker at least has other Marines as incredibly strong allies. Kid doesn’t. That’s why he’s such a poor rival. He’s strong, and he has one strong subordinate, but much more than that is needed to be a real rival to Luffy

Luffy's confrontation with Smoker came in PH with a totally different Luffy. Smoker himself was raped by Doffy. And Luffy treats him with a huge smile in his face.

This does not prove he’s more of a rival at all lol. Law took care of Smoker like he was nothing and we all know Luffy > Law. Smoker fighting Luffy doesn’t prove he’s more of a rival than Kidd. It’s an irrelevant point. Luffy and Kidd could easily fight in the future.

The sooner you accept it, the less hatred you will have.
He's not smoker or Law
Both lack CoC
Oda doesn't hand CoC and such portrayal as rival to people who are far weaker than Luffy . Even the enemies he fight who have CoC aren't below him.
