Sukiyaki describing how the Old Wano ended and New Wano came into existence raises quite a few questions and sort of disproves one of the theories that was seemingly very popular being that Wano actually came into being by some continent pulling shit.
1. The Old Wano was way below Onigashima and around sea level. Going to Onigashima must be like a pilgrimage to a shrine back then.
2. Somebody built these fucking huge walls around 800 years ago and just for comparison they absolutely dwarf Onigashima, they are even taller than the current height of Mt. Fuji. I think somebody had Morley's or a similar DF (must be awakened) back then to create these walls. How desperate were they that they did not even think about the flooding.
3. The current base of Wano on the sides of Mt Fuji is man-made also, it did not exist originally. How did they attach new land to the sides of the mountain?
4. How long did it take for the rain to flood the area so much that it sort of became a sea itself. Must have happened over centuries? How much rain does the country receive that the waterfall is always flowing?
5. Why are there seven distinct regions all separated by river/sea? Hakuma, Ringo, Udon, Kuri, Kibi, Flower Capital, Onigashima?
6. How can the land masses, the distinct regions, be brought over the walls and the waterfall?
It does not seem like the creation of New Wano was a planned move at all. The creators of the wall didn't seem to have planned for creating a flood or a sea. So the relocation only came about as a unforeseen survival plan and the walls must have already been built before the extra land on the sides of Mt. Fuji was attached. They must have realized that the water was accumulating and it would keep on rising unless the walls are destroyed (they could have made an adjustment in the walls like how the Beast Pirates use their special port) and whoever created the walls could easily do that for them unless he was dead. But if they were dead then how did they attach the extra land to the sides of Mt Fuji? How did they decide on the height of the walls? Maybe they treated Onigashima as a lookout post and raised the walls just below the level of Onigashima.
