Incredible trailer imo, don’t really care what anyone else says. Ganondorf’s voice sounded amazing and some of the gameplay clips looked incredible. I was certainly not expecting vehicles in Zelda.
Man, Tears of the Kingdom has me much, much, much more excited than BOTW promotionals did.
The part when Ganondorf spoke for the first time is seriously the best about this trailer. I legit got goosebumps when Ganondorf got revived and commanded his demon army to destroy everything of the Hyrule kingdom. His German voice actor even said "Tötet sie alle!" which means "Kill them all!" - the word killing isn't usually used in child friendly games like that or at least I don't recall that. Then you see various monsters, as well as the redeads (YES!) and Gleeok.
I'm so freaking hyped for this game, considering the fact that they showed a glimpse of what the new overworld looks like. Seriously, galloping with Epona through the dark hyrule field sure will be an amazing experience. Just look how dark the world is.
Also, this is note-worthy: Apparently, someone told me this and I re-checked it again, there are barely any sky island visible in some shots which highly indicates that all sky islands are not really there from the beginning. Hence there sure is an important story progression this time which makes up for a more dynamic map as well. Maybe the player can unlock more underground caverns or sky islands by progressing throughout the story/finishing up dungeons.
Therefore, I think the map's geography isn't absolute in this game. It might even change depending on how far you're into this game.
Some might think that TotK looks like BotW DLC but especially because the trailers give this vibe, I think it is definitely the contrast. They developed this game for 6 years. Not just for those things which we saw in the trailers. Why would they fuck the sequel up like that? "People would buy it anyway!" - Sure, if it's maybe Gamefreak... But the Zelda dev team doesn't think like that. Every time, they made sure to develop amazing 3D Zelda titles. As if popularity suddenly forces them to halfass the sequel's development of the - currently - most successful Zelda title ever...
They show us glimpses of the game without spoiling much. Hence it's definitely story focused this time. Maybe this title will also deal with time travel shenanigans a lot? What I mean is that there is a reason why they're still hiding stuff. And tbh, this trailer sure gave a lot of new details. Just look at the underground caverns. The one pic - which
@Toby D. Dog posted - actually shows a beautiful underground area. As I told him, this level design reminds me of some Xenoblade Chronicles 1/2/3 levels. That sure is the influence of Monoliftsoft and I'm so glad to see how much details they added to one particular area in the underground.
I get they didn't want to change the world too much , but they could've easily shifted the terrain a bit. like there are earthquackes happening and what not, they could've easily done this.
Well, the dev team already implied that they wanted to use the same world for the sequel, so I understand why there are still spots which are identical to BotW.
However, shifting the terrain, changing here and there a bit - all of that can still happen throughout the game.
also i hope the old enemines aren't as abundant and we get more variety.
From the looks of it, old enemies have reskin but they also carry different equipment.
Just look at the bokoblin miners at the underground caverns. And now there is also some sort of "bokoblin boss" who commands the other ones.
Also, we've seen redeads and Gleeok. I'm sure they added a lot more new enemies to the rooster.
and if not that much they should've atleast changed the combat system.
Bow gameplay already got changed, look up at the patents.
So I guess they also changed the combat system.
as much i loved the botw , this wil not be acceptable if its the same game with minor changes.
I agree if there are minor changes.
But as I said, I doubt they hardly did something throughout the 6 years. I think we'll get at least 7 dungeons.
